what happened to the good ol way of getting drunk? lol On Spike Tv this show called Manswers was doing an episode of how to get drunk the fastest. They said by doing an hand stand or upside down, you pour alcohol into your butt hole. This hits your bloodstream faster which results in quicker intoxication. I've never tried it and never will, my booty hole is exit only.
lol, yeah. There was a segment on 1000 Ways to Die about this guy who got his wife to pour a bottle of scotch or something into this rectum in order to get drunk, and he died of alcohol poisoning because it bypassed the liver and everything else important. Dumb shit if you ask me.

They're cheaper than a 50g, so if you hate the flavor, you didn't waste money, and you don't have a ton of tobacco that you'll never smoke laying around. (happened to me with HH cherry...)
I would advise to just stay away from HH. Once you try other brands, you'll realize how low quality it really is...
I disagree. While they have some really terrible flavors, such as cherry, they have some really good flavors, too, like hazelnut and spiced rum, and I just got through smoking guava, which I liked a lot. I think it's a good middle of the road tobacco - nothing more, and nothing less. I also think that the 'shooters' are a great idea, because if you don't like the flavor of the tobacco, you're only out a dollar and a half as opposed to 4+ dollars for a 50g. Also, by using the shooters, you can form an opinion on a flavor, and then branch out from there. For example, if you buy a shooter of HH's double apple and enjoy it, you can then buy that flavor from a premium company knowing that you're going to enjoy it much more. And yes, I've smoked Starbuzz and AF. I've got a 250 of SB's sweet apple that I'm working on, and various 50's of AF. I enjoy some of the HH flavors as much as I like the SB and AF flavors that I have. Why spend more than twice the price of the shooters to determine if you like the flavor or not? Also, it all boils down to opinion. I've read reviews of people who love HH cherry, but I can't stand it. I'd rather lick ass. Likewise, as I stated earlier, I just finished smoking HH's guava, which I bought a shooter of, and I enjoyed it. Now I know that I like the guava flavor, and I'm going to start looking for other guava flavors from different companies. It really is just an alternative way to find good tobacco, I guess, but it's working for me.
Every time I go to my local smoke shop, the owner throws a handful of those shooters into my bag for free, so I have tried a good number of their flavors. Most of the ones I've tried taste like ass, but I will say that some are okay at best. My main problem with them is their cuts of tobacco and what flavorings they use. I'm by no means an expert on how tobacco is manufactured, but I can safely say that I definitely notice the quality difference in the smoke that is produced and how quickly the tobacco burns. The flavor may smell decent, but in my opinion, by the time you smoke it, the smoke has a chemical taste to it. I save my HH supply for when I run out of other brands simply because I've found it to be the lowest quality of any brand that I've smoked.
I agree that the taste can get a bit chemicaly. I half-way uncover my shooters for sometimes as much as a day before I smoke them, and that seems to cut back a bit on the chemical taste. I don't know how, but it does. Like I said earlier, the good HH tobacco I have tried is mediocre at best, but I feel that the shooters are simply a good way to try different flavors. The only HH I regularly smoke is Hazelnut because it actually is really good. In the end, life's too short to smoke something shitty, so in reality, I'd buy some pretty good stuff to start off with like some of the other people have suggested (Tangiers, Romman, SB, etc.), but for flavors that you're not too sure about, I'd just buy a shooter of the HH stuff. For example, I bought a shooter of guava because I'd never had it before and didn't know what it tasted like. The HH version was good, so I now know I won't be wasting my money when I buy a premium guava. -

So I'm pretty excited about this, mainly because it's just something to do... My girlfriend and I went to our local tobacco outlet (which has nothing special...four flavors of AF and a bunch of shitty cigars...) and I saw this hookah for 15 dollars. By jmiket91 at 2010-06-18 Because she has a hookah this size, we went on and bought it so we could use the hose as a second hose for her hookah. (we're both hose hogs...) 15 dollars is the cheapest hose we've found - the hookah was just a bonus. I've decided to use the base from this hookah and upgrade everything else because this is one terrible hookah, and I figured that this was a great starting place as we got it for virtually nothing. Here's a picture of the base (and my mugshot...): By jmiket91 at 2010-06-18 Any recommendations on stems to use? Besides that, I know exactly what I'm going to use. I may not be able to get an amazing hookah out of this, but it's something to do, and it will be interesting. I know this isn't a big deal to you seasoned guys at all, but it's my first 'customize your own', so I figured I'd share. Once it's done, I'll post the updated pictures and a review of it.
And if you don't want to die in a car crash just stop driving, and if you don't want to die of old age just commit suicide. I'm willing to bet that you guys don't smoke because you want lung cancer. You know the risks, but you decide to enjoy hookah anyway, as do I. However, if there is a chance to still do what you enjoy and reduce the risk of adverse health effects, why not take advantage of it? My wife laughs at me all the time for getting diet soda with my giant hamburger and fries, but it's better than 350 cal. of soda on top of the giant hamburger and fries that I'm going to eat anyway. Why wear a seatbelt when you drive? Not because it makes driving more fun or feel better, but just in case some asshole on their cell phone plows into your car. You do it to reduce risk. If some pecan crusted tilapia can reduce my risk of getting lung cancer and slightly offset some of the things I choose to do that increase my risk, why wouldn't I take advantage of it. I would rather take some risks and enjoy my life than live in a bubble for fear of what might hurt me or make me sick. If I can increase my chances of living longer and being a little healthier while still having fun, I will. I applaud doctors and scientist that are finding ways to reduce the risk of the dangerous things that I do while still enjoying them.
Well said.

I mean, I'm not opposed to doing it, but the only time I'd do it is on the long two lane road on the way from my house to my college. One smoke session would fill that ride perfectly as it's an hour and a half drive. Isn't that really what the leila is designed for?

Al Fakher Grape Setup: Badshah Hookah, just a regular bowl, water. In the future I'd probably pair this with either some wine in the vase or a glass of wine...and I'm not even a big wine drinker... Smell: To me, it smells somewhat like Welch's grape juice, with some chemical undertones, but it smells very sweet. It's also very pungent. Not only could I smell it outside of it's packaging, I can also smell it in the ziplock back that I have it in right now, which is in a book-bag filled with clothes... Cut: A little thinner than Starbuzz, but not by much. Very moist, and some stems, but they were very small, so I packed them in, anyway. Smoke: The smoke was great - pretty thick for the amount of heat I had on it. I just used two crappy Chinese coals that gave off so little heat, I could pretty much hold them in my hand. (they weren't really that bad, but compared to the stuff I usually use, these burned cold...) Taste: Apparently AF Grape experienced a flavor transformation a while back that caused many die hard AF fans to disown the flavor. I never experienced that flavor change, but I think it's safe to say that the good AF grape is back. My box contains tobacco produced in 2010, and it tastes like I'm drinking a glass of Welch's grape juice. It's wonderful. Buzz: I'm not that experienced of a smoker, and while I got a buzz, it wasn't a major buzz - enough for me to enjoy it, but not so much of one that I couldn't function after my smoke. My session lasted only about 45 minutes because I had to cut it short. I had to help pressure wash the house...I enjoyed it so much, though, that I'm about to go finish off the rest of this 50g box. I give this flavor a 10 out of 10. I got great smoke, it had a great taste, and managing the heat was not a challenge. It was nice to be able to sit down and enjoy smoking without having to fuss with the coals every few minutes. This flavor is now one of my favorite flavors, and I'll be keeping a box in my fridge at all times.

Thanks for the reply! I was actually just about to go use them...good thing I got on and checked really quick. I guess I'll run down to the store and pick up some coals.

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum to post this question in, but I couldn't decide if it should have been here or in the 'General' forum. Anyway, has anyone ever used Kingsford Match Light to heat their shisha? Is it somehow unsafe to use? If it's okay, will I need to split it up before I use it? I didn't know if this coal burns as hot as typical hookah coals, or if it burns much hotter since it is used for cooking. I'm all out of coals buy dying to try some AF grape...

Well, that's good to hear. I'm starting to look forward to it now.

Yeah - their live stuff on Youtube is pretty entertaining, but everything's always different live. Just didn't know if anyone had some live concert stories from them. Guess I'll report back after the show.

Hey Guys, I'm going to see Broken Bells on Friday at the 40 watt in Athens, GA. Has anyone ever seen them live? If so, how excited should I be for this show? Maybe it's odd that I'm going to see a band I've never heard of, but a group of guys that I graduated high school with are going to see Broken Bells, so I'm tagging along. I was thinking about introducing them to hookah that night, too, so I guess even if it's not too good of a show, I'll at least get a good smoke out of the night...

I've been really into Starbuzz's Sweet Apple and Hookah Hookah's Hazelnut. I've got a 50g of AF Strawberry and a 50g of HH Cherry that I've yet to smoke, but I'm dying to.
