Few Problems, Can Anyone Help Me Please :) ?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and I need help. I hope you guys can help me out smile.gif I have several problems that I never had before with my hookah pipes. I have two of them.

The first pipe was dirty and I didn't have the brushes to clean it. I had this stupid idea to try to clean it with something else, and now, guess what, there's a piece of paper towel stuck in it!! And it's really far, I tried to get a long wire and push to get it out but it stays there...any ideas on how I could get it out?

The second pipe had another problem. There is absolutely NO SMOKE coming out when I smoke. Why is that?

And my last problem is with the tobbaco itself. It always burns! I tried to get smaller coals, less tobbaco, more tobbaco, but it burns and tastes like crap! What could I do? I use aluminium foil.

Thanks a lot in advance happy.gif

I had the papertowel problem in the past, I used a clothes hanger to get it out...let the pipe soak in water for a while so the paper towel gets really moist and begins to deteriorate.

as for smoke...what kind of hookah and bowl are you using?

Did you try running water through the stem?

If that doesn't work, you could try to find a long stick and if it isn't wide enough, wrap something on the end like duct tape... of course a long stem brush would be most ideal.

Before putting coals on the bowl, test the seals by covering the stem/bowl with your hand and then inhale on the hose. If you can draw in air, then you have a bad seal somewhere.

You can try splitting your coals or if they are the box type, you can stand them on the edge. Make sure you are not overpacking the tobacco. Another thing you could try is using two layers of foil.

Thank you so much for answering me, I really appreciate it.

Here is pictures of one of my hookah pipes. Does it help you?

I know it's DIRTY but it's been a while since I used it and didn't clean it yet...

I tried splitting coals, it was better but it still burned in the end. Edited by Amyrosie

thats a mod bowl...try packing it tight, putting your foil on, poking holes, then suck on the bottom of the bowl to check to make sure there is air flow.
If you are using 33mm quicklight coals, use two dangling off the edges off the bowl...
another good method is a fluffy packing of the bowl with one quicklight in the center of the bowl.
I often had trouble getting this type of bowl to smoke good when I first started out in the hookah world.

Break it up halves (1.5 coals) in a triangle position on the edge of the bowl.

what coals and tobacco are you using

I am using Three Kings coals and Sinbad tobacco (I also have some Soex, I know it sucks but I couldn't find anything else when I went to the store)

sounds like my old setup, i found that three halves right up on the edge worked best for me. Toothpick sized holes all over the place. Pack it nice and fluffy to the top

Soex isn't tobacco, its shit. Might as well save yourself the trouble and put it in the trash can.

if you guuna use soex... then GTFO!! lol! joking.

try using one coal, cos soex is real easy to burn. it also wont last then an hour. and also make sure that no soex is touching then foil, so underpack it a little, as in just under the rim of the bowl.

hope it helps.

Hey! My hookah has that exact coal tray! Be sure that tray is crimped tight to the stem, otherwise coal dumpage may occur.

To remove the paper towel, get a dowel rod from a hardware store that's small enough to fit in the stem...say about 1/2 to 2/3rds the inner diameter of the tube. As a bonus, when you have it cleared, you can just drill the end of the dowel and stick a nylon bristled brush on it, boom stem brush.

Get some pipe cleaners, the kind with scrubbers in it for cleaning the hose/purge ports....they really do help.

Practice packing your bowls, and if the hookah is smoking in any less than two minutes, you're going to burn the shisha...once that bowl gets to temp, you'll be running too hot.
