Water in hose

So this is really wierd.  When im smoking my hookah with my friends, they tend to inhale water... but this never happens to me.  I've tried lowering the water lever in the base... they still get water.  It's easy to fix when it happens, but I was just wonderin if any of you had any tips or suggestions...

Less water, about 1/2" above the bottom of the shank. The best way to check if it is too much is to remove the hose and then suck through the empty hose port. If you get water up, then you could get it in the hose; you have too much. Water in most hoses is very bad, it causes rust and ruins the hose.

Nah, I think your friend are just trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose ;)

What type of a hookah are you using by the way? A standard egyptian
hookah? Whats the size? With most standard egyptians, as long as you
follow tangiers advice and fill just a smidge over the bottom of the
stem, you should never have a water problem..

As for me, I have a Stargate which comes with a pretty small chamber,
and if you don't put the water at the PERFECT level, you will get water
up in the hose. But I've found that perfect level, and it is never a
problem anymore.

Once you find your hookahs optimal water level where your friends won't
suck up water, try marking the chamber with a washable marker at that
water level until you can remember the same spot every time.

Just a tip.

Yea my friends do that too and always get water in the hose. What i do
is keep a shop vac handy and put the end of the hose a little bit into
the shop vac tube and itll get all the water out. You need to school
your friends the proper way of hitting the hookah or lower the water
level when they come over to smoke shisha with you. It is really nasty
when you get that syrup in your mouth it numbs your whole mouth and
makes you want to puke.

Hey, Yea id lower the water level a bit and tell ur friends to chill
out and hit it slower. Also, some times its moisture from people
hitting, and clearing the smoke, not from the actual water in the base.
Try using pipe cleaners on both ends of the hose, this problem happens
a lot with regular corn cob and briar pipes. I mostly use, as
hookahcaterpillar said before, a shop vac which also helps avoiding any
syrup from getting in your mouth.
