Review: Revitali Hookah Lounge, New York, Ny

Revitali Hookah Lounge:
So I visited New York City the other day, and I decided to pick a hookah bar to visit while I was there. Google directed me to this place located at 125 1st Ave. We stayed and smoked a bowl for about 2.5 - 3 hours.

Price: $$ (Hookah was $15 - $20 and $30 for special bases)

Atmosphere: 7.5/10 : It was traditionally decorated, with cushioned benches, tables and high back chairs. The whole place smelled like strawberry shisha. Almost everyone in the joint has at least one hookah at their table. The lounge is about 50 ft by 50 ft with a low hung ceiling, and a wide variety of music playing ranging from middle eastern dance to Ja Rule and Shaggy. The only bad part was the seats were rather uncomfortable until we stole some extra pillows from the next table over.

Food/Drinks: 8/10 : We had a pitcher of Sangria that appeared to be homemade, tasty! They have a pretty decent selection of beer and also a full bar. The food wasn't anything to brag about, eat somewhere else.

Hookah : 10/10 : Wow, it was great. We had a jasmine and mint mix. No one working would divulge the brand they used, as it was "secret" It was very reminiscent of D'Vine in Miami, FL who imports their own directly from "The middle East." This very convoluted series of associations leads me to believe it is some small brand, well known in parts of the world other than here. They used natural coals exclusively and extra coals were free. They had a wide range of flavors as well as the option to try their mix flavors for $5 more. You could also pay a little extra for milk, juice, wine, or Smirnoff Ice in your base. Additionally they had special hookahs with apple bowls, pineapple bases...etc for a little bit more.

Service: 9/10 : The food/drink service was good, but the hookah and coal service was perfect!

OVERALL: 9/10 : HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Sahara East is past its prime, they are overpriced and their hookahs dont smoke well. I will admit that their food is great though!

I'm a fan of "Cozy Cafe", the service is excellent and the owner really knows how to treat customers. From what I hear "Horas" is also very good.

If you think Sahara East is expensive then Horas is more expensive. Horas is like a 25-30 dollar cover charge per person. Ill check out the Cozy Cafe. To be honest though I have a Hookah bar of my own with my KM

Defiantly try the feta cheese dip if you go to cozy cafe. I didn't hear about the cover for horas, they only said 10-15 a hookah.
