  1. The ban has to do with flavored cigarettes (i.e. cotton candy newports) which are obviously intended to seduce young children into smoking. However, in our wonderful state of Illinois we did hear "Hookah" specifically mentioned as a target of this ban and I have varified that there is a push to include hookah/shisha in the "flavored tobacco" category. I doubt hookah will be included, but it is a real possibility on a state by state basis, unlikely on a federal level though. The federal proposal has more to do with advertising and such. Regards, Mike
  2. Hey all, I just wanted to update and apologize for not providing the coal samples as promised. Soon after I posted the promotion we began a lot of changes with our business, website and inventory selection. As you can see our site has been updated and our inventory has changed, and unfortunately the Starlight promo completely slipped our minds. We no longer carry the Starlight coco coals (neither do many other retailers or distributors) so we cannot fulfill the offer we made. Again everyone, we are truly sorry for not fulfilling the promotion as promised and there is no real good excuse other than we forgot. Feel confident in knowing that no emails were harvested and anyone who submitted an email will never receive promotional materials unless offcourse they have registered or placed an order with us in the past. Best wishes, Mike Hookah Life
  3. Hey all, Thanks for all the replies and emails, I was a little scared when I opend my email client this morning and saw all the responses to our post. Everyone who submitted an email should get a response within a day or two. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  4. Thanks for all the replies. Those of you who applied will be receiving verification emails within the next day or two. Thanks again. Regards, Mike Hookah Life

Video Review = Full Box Article Review = 20 Pieces Participants will only be provided with Starlight Coco coals, so you must either use or have used CocoNaras. All inquiries please reply to this thread and/or email support@hookah-life.com There is a maximum for applicants so apply soon. We would appreciate all reviews to be posted in a timely manner within 30 days or less of receiving the samples. Reviews should concentrate on price v. quality. Thanks to all for the participation. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  6. Regarding the coal warming the water, heat from hookah coals dissipates very quickly as you get farther away. Hookah coals dont project heat well, which is one of the reasons you have to draw to accumulate smoke in the vase. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  7. I wont go into detail and I doubt that any other vendors will either, but I can say that the online retail sales in the domestic U.S. are at $100,000,000 or less per annum. That would include Ebay vendors and dropshippers. Thats a very rough estimate and the variance on it could be +/- $50MM. I dont think anyone has done an in depth study in the past and as all hookah vendors, manufacturors, distributors and the like are private companies getting accurate or any information is nearly impossible. I can say honestly that we have heard multiple variations as to who is the industry leader in online sales, wholesale, manufacturing etc...and although each company may have its own analysis of the competition the accuracy is limited. Sorry for the ambiguity in my answer. Hope it helps. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  8. Are you pushing the stem and grommet all the way in? If not try wetting the grommet and then twisting it in. It should create a relatively tight seal. If that doesnt work you might need a new grommet, most sites carry them, they are about $1-2 a piece. Hope this helps. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  9. Not worth the money IMO. The 2 in the middle look like the highest quality, but I wouldnt pay the asking price. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  10. Hey Inino, The QT and Bambino are real popular. I would also recommend the Razo and Chic by Mya. They are higher in quality, especially the glass vases, and the smoke quality is great. They are priced slightly higher, but well worth it in my opinion. Hope this helps. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  11. I have to say I am surprised at how much people dislike rotator hookahs. We have had a lot of experience with them and it has been nothing but good. Then again our rotators are made in Egypt so maybe thats why the quality is better, but who knows maybe we have just been lucky in our experience. To each their own I guess. *On a side note we have never had a rotator hookah returned or complained about. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  12. We've seen that before. I have no idea what it is because we have had it on non-copper/brass hookahs. My best guess is that the inside of the bowl hasnt been cleand in a while, people forget to clean that sometimes and just wash the top of the bowl out, the inside should be washed and dried too. This is especially an issue with the Mya standard bowls for some reason. Just clean the bowl and hookah, wipe them down were you can and let the rest air dry before your next use. Hope this helps. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  13. You should be ok since the hose port is standard Mya size used on all Mya hookahs. I agree with Hippo and from experience that with a small hookah a heavy hose might be a bad choice as it can tip ove the hookah, but the QT's are pretty stable just be careful. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
  14. Also, forgot to mention there is Juliana which is a bit outside the city but its really nice for large groups. They are banquet hall style so there is a minimum, but they have live music and pretty good food. -Mike Hookah Life
  15. Thanks for posting a question about our home town. The 2 most popular locations are Samah and Sigara. There is also a few Dhuwan locations one in Lincoln Park on Clark and one closer to Loyola Univ. Guess Hookah is no longer a lounge, they are strictly retail. If you want something fancier with food and belly dancing try Souk, it was pretty good when we went there about a year ago. Hope this helps. Regards, Mike Hookah Life
