1. I've pretty much phased out all my bowls but the crown micro phunnel...
2. I had mold in a vase that re-appeared after brush cleaning the first time, so I killed it with bleach and lacquer thinner.
3. Vinyl tubing is all I use for hosing anymore. I'll give what feedback I can from my experiences: Concerning flexibility: If you go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy it by the foot off the spools, it will be harder and less flexible. If instead you buy pre-cut packaged lengths (more expensive) the tubing is softer and more flexible. Concerning taste: In my experience all the 'vinyl' taste disappears after initial use. I usually just clean hoses with water, twirl them to get the bulk of the water out, than hang to drip over night. The only extreme cleaning I ever did was to clear out choco-mint flavor from one hose. I tried water and lemon juice which produced better results than just water. In the end I set up a small fountain pump and left tube flowing in the sink at my shop overnight.
4. cut 4-5 "V" shaped cuts into tea light, this was the only thing I did to it. packed Starbuzz, Mya bowl, 1 layer foil standard hole pattern 2 coals: new cube-shaped cocos warm water in base Smoked for 45-1hour before it died down too much. Overall an awesome way to smoke alone. I will definitely be doing all my personal sessions with my mini Mya like this from now on.
5. When I first started smoking, if I smoked extended amounts (more than one bowl) I would get splitting headaches. I found the tell for me to stop was my ears started to hurt. I do not have this problem any more though. Just my experience.
6.
I'm guessing I'm not managing my heat properly. Comments? Help? Anything would be cool. Thanks!
Seems like a heat problem. With the bowl packed above the lip as pictured, I would imagine you are burning your top layer of shisha at the start, which gives you harsh smoke. Try packing a little lower, or using a phunnel. Start with 3 coals like you did, and pull one off if it gets harsh. If it starts to die down after you pulled the 3rd off, either put it back on or put a wind cover on for more heat. Theres my thoughts!
7. What I could gather from the video: 3 quarter inch pvc pipe. 16-18" 3 quarter inch slip thread adaptor x2 3 quarter by half inch slip thread adaptor male quick connect? bronze female quick connect, bronze 3 quarter by half inch threaded adaptor for quick connect, brass half inch "i dunno" So what is the last mastery part?
8. Still waiting on a parts list delSol_si! pleeeease!
9.
score!!
Whats the best nakhla to try first? Been meaning to try this brand with how much everyone here raves about it! (I've been smoking starbuzz, JM's, and al fakher.)
10. I have about a 28" MZ and it smokes great. The stem is no where near chinese quality like ih303 said: Solid build, no weld marks, and I've had it for years with moderate cleaning. Everything fits tight and I really like the way MZ's trays connect and sit on the stem. Long and wide hose port + solid screwing purge port, not silly little screw on ones.
11.
I have an add-on ice bucket. I fill it with salt water, and freeze the whole thing. It stays frozen for over an hour.
I do this as well. I have a chamber I rigged to work with my 2-hose genie (essentially 8-12" tall). On such a small stem I do notice a difference; I do not notice much of a change on my larger hookah.
12. Inside at home I put them back on the burner and leave them, outside I usually throw them on gravel or asphalt.
13. Really nice! The yarn idea is amazing
14.
three bendy straws for the win.
Has anyone who uses this method tried a different how-to method or for that matter a real diffuser? I used straws and kinda noticed the difference, but then made my own 'realer' diffuser with lots of small holes - took one drag and jaw dropped. Cant imagine going back to straws of any kind.
