It seems like if you leave a gap the foil will sag a little and eventually touch.
i appreciate everyone's sincere responses. my next question is.. if the shisha is touching the foil .. won't it burn faster and hotter. Be more likely to produce harshness? Wouldn't the coal scorch the shisha vs simmer it? When you say washed tobacco, I assume you mean "wet" molasses tobacco like AF and starbuzz? What I found after googling: "Washed shisha=washed tobacco=less nicotine (00.5) Unwashed shisha=not washed out to get rid of a majority of the nic= (0.5)"
Wetter tobacco is exactly what it means, the tobacco is "juicier" or physically wetter, the wetness doesn't nessicarily mean it is washed or not. Normally the "premium" tobaccos such as StarBuzz are washed, some like Tangiers Noir are not but they do offer a washed alternative called Lucid. And not trying to be an ass but 00.5 and 0.5 are the same thing, I'm assuming you mean 0.005 and 0.5?
 2. Due to variances in people's personal preferences, there will never be a definitive answer to this question. Some people enjoy cheaper brands and to them they are just as good, or even better than a more expensive brand. Others, love the way a more expensive brand would taste or smoke, its really up to the person. Personally, for me, the brand doesn't matter so much as the flavor in that particular brand. Theres flavors of Starbuzz that I can't stand, same with AF, Nakhla, Al-Waha, Tangiers, Fantasia etc. On the other hand depending on my mood the only shisha I want to smoke could be anything regardless of how expensive it is. The quality of my smoke is determined by me, not how much I payed for my shisha. Let me know if this makes no sense its like 3am here haha. -Jared
 3. I prefer the dark skin, easier on my eyes and looks cool.
 4. Mya's are great quality and smoke well, if you were looking for something bigger then you could go for a Khalil Mamoon. Mavsfan31 does have a good idea that you might want to look into as well, if you really like the Mya Acrylic, which is a nice hookah, you can get it and $100 of goodies, for, well $100 haha. That will buy a lot of shisha and coals, if you are anything like I am, when you buy your first hookah you will smoke like crazy. (I also ruined a few bowls of shisha due to having no idea what I was doing)
 5. Congrats. Glad to hear you are happy with it, and as afore mentioned some new hoses would greatly increase the pleasure of your smoking experience.
 6. What everyone else said about the hookahs are correct, so instead of just being redundant I'll make some other suggestions: AF is a great brand, but in addition to Nakhla (personally not much of a Nakhla man but you should decide for youself) I would recommend Starbuzz, Fantasia, and Tangiers. All three of those brands have a lot of unique flavors and all smoke and taste very good (well not EVERY flavor is my cup of tea). They are more expensive, but in my opinion they are well worth the money. Also, I'm not sure what kind of coals you are using but for quick lights 3 kings or CH Hookah coals both are great. If you were looking into natural coals Coconara and CH Hookah make great natural coals.
 7. Thats ridiculous, a 13 year old getting in a knife fight and killing someone? That's insane, the world is getting more and more messed up I swear. We have at least one school shooting a year now.
 8. Remember in basic training that the military is not like that. Its a very stressful time, and some guys in your platoon might not handle it well. It's nothing like what you see in the movies, sure there is some yelling and what not, but as long as you don't mess up allll the time you will be okay. At the end you really learn to appreciate your DS and the entire experience in general. Also, thumbs up to you for joining the military, its a big step and isn't an easy one to make. I wish you the best of luck.
nys is a tough place to start any smoking business. they are very restrictive regarding tobacco. good luck. one of the reasons i moved to Tennessee.
Doesn't surprise me the least bit. Bloomberg in NYC is the one who passed the no smoking indoors which we now have here in Ohio. It's not impossible to start a smoking business, there are several hookah bars in Cleveland and pretty much on ever college campus here. You might have to go to several cities before one will allow it, but who know you might get lucky.
 10. I agree with Jeff, I also would not invest that large of sum of money into something I wouldn't be around to over-see. Especially if you are going off to college and getting a degree to get a job in the work place. Who knows how far away from your investment you would be then? Just food for thought, if 10g's is pocket change this could be something for you to consider, but if this is going to be a financially straining investment I'd be weary of it.

First and foremost, what do YOU want out of your lounge? That's very important to start with. On the customer end of the spectrum, make sure you keep something open for everyone, this means music, atmosphere, the whole 9 yards. Cater to what your customers need and want and you'll at the very least be "the place to go." Prices and all that shit will contribute, but others on this forum can contribute to that aspect of your lounge ownership. Think of when you first went to a hookah bar: was that exactly what you wanted? Was the atmosphere and music up to your standards? Was the business consistent?
Well I have all that down I am talking about what's the best way to talk to the Zoning people about it, what permits would I need, all of that. I want to get all the legal stuff to be done first to even see if my town will allow it.
Sounds like you need advice from a lawyer or someone of the like... They will know the specifics about your area and everything that goes along with it.
I was able to find out a lot of information just from the internet, in terms of what types of permits are needed etc. A lawyer is a good idea, might save you a few hours of navigating the web looking for regulations and the like. I think you may need a federal tax ID number for the tobacco, and if smoking indoors is illegal in your state theres some special permit you need (at least here in Ohio there is).
 12. I am not addicted, but I do feel the want to smoke once a day, although I certainly do not NEED to.
 13. Whichever one you like better, both are great pipes.
 14.
im going to say its something to do with your set up, i have it in my possession and am smoking it right now. its not the best flavor in terms having the most in your face flavor but its not too mellow. kinda in the middle in terms of taste
It was one of the first flavors I tried and I remember it being weaker than I expected. So if he is new to hookah it could be as a result of one of the newbie mistakes we all made when setting our hookahs up. I know I made a ton of them at least, and it drastically effected the quality of my flavor. AF doesn't have the strongest of flavors but its certainly not weak. If you want it to taste more fruity you can try putting some juice in your base, Juicy Juice has a cherry flavor I believe.
 15. There's always a crazy lady to viciously oppose some random thing that is even remotely unhealthy. They always make up a ton of reasons using facts, or statements out of context twisted to support their point. It's what makes America great. Has anyone noticed how people like that are almost always especially ugly?
