  1. Two questions1. What do you find the most challenging thing about having a hookah lounge?2. How did you get started smoking and how long have you been smoking?
  2. I agree with you, that even though it is a time of mourning, life still goes on (even though certain activities are not permitted). Also thank you for you understanding.
  3. I am studying to convert to Judaism, so I have been eating no pork (not even gum really (has gluten... made from pig fat)). I have been eating a lot of vegetarian food because of animal rights... I feel bad for the animals that are slaughtered in a inhumane manor and right now I can't really get kosher meat (which by the way is slaughtered in a humane manor). Halal is similar to a kosher diet, but differs. Some opinions even say that if a muslim cannot find food that is Halal, (s)he can eat food, certified kosher.
  4. not to be rude (even though is is more a phrasing correction) Tisha B'Av (the 9th of the hebrew month of Av) is not really a celebration but rather a time of mourning and pain. It would be kinda like sitting shiva (shiva is also a time of mourning for the death of someone you know personally) for your child (G-d forbid). I am someone who is in the process of converting to orthodox judaism (even though they don't like the fact that I smoke hookah, they will have to deal with it). I think that Mel gibson is a blemish on the christian society. He has done great things for the christian society but is very conservative in his views on christianity. There are many christians that have built bridges between jews and christians. I, even though converting to Judaism respect pope John Paul II for his work to restore shalom(peace) between judaism and christianity. I know that getting drunk will alter your perception on things (Physically and mentally), but I haven't seen that many drunks go into fits about how all the wars of the world are the jew's fault and asking a police officer if he is a "f*cking Jew". Also it is sad that there has been so much that has happened on Tisha B'Av, that there has to be a time of mourning. and also the reason jews were salty over the passion is because of the fact about the way the jews were portrayed. I think the christians would be mad if the jews made a movie that rebuked the statement that said jesus is the savior. In either case, one group would be criticizing the views of another.
  5. ok, here is a different take on this idea... instead of burning the coals on top of the bowl, burn the coals under the bowl. the main objective of the coals are to heat the bowl so that the tobacco can smoke. If another tray (small in size) was placed between the bowl and the coal tray. The heat would rise (naturally) and heat the bowl evenly. I think the idea related to adjusting the position is not applicable in this situation since shisha burns fine when the coals are put at the same level the whole smoke session normally. Note: this setup would be based upon the current setup, only differing in that, the coals would me below the bowl, resting on a small tray above the coal catcher.
  6. Over the weekend, I helped my friend move. I found out he had a hookah and so me, my friend matt, and the friend we helped move, ben sat down and smoked a bowl (Mango). The next night, we smoked another bowl of Peach. I want to smoke again. I most enjoyed the flavorful smoke and relaxing social circle atmosphere. It was so nice to just discuss life over a relaxing bowl of flavored tobacco. . I am 17 by the way.
