You are fine. IMO it is safer than quicklights. In fact, that is what they did when I was at a Qatari's beach camp in Doha, Qatar. Not sure what type of wood it was though. I've also done it a few times when smoking by the fire at a friends lake house. Never had any problems.

Tangiers Lime The pipe: See above Tangiers Phunnle Smell: Lime Flavor: A nice refreshing Lime. Tastes like a real Lime. Smoke: It’s Tangiers (Thick, full, and cloudy) Buzz: It’s Tangiers, but I think some of the other flavors have a stonger buzz. Overall: Nice true flavor. Would go good with Mint.

Just got the new Indigo Flower + a Lime sample in the mail. Acclimating now.

Going to make a mosaic for a back porch table.

Try a different bowl. A deeper one. Those shallow bowls can get tricky. They need less direct heat from the coal, so keeping the coal on the very edge, with a wind cover or foil hood should work.

I feel rho that when I pack it more there isn't that fingertip space inbetween and it just burns even more.... I barley leave any space between the foil and shisha. Also, if you pack it more it will require less coals. So start off with a couple pieces around the very edge of the bowl, add the foil hood, smoke for a minute or 2. If still not enough smoke add another piece and repeat as necessary.
