Yeah I get the common large brown glazed ceramic.
The best thing is to have a selection in front of you so you can choose
one that's deep and has the holes spaced evenly! I got really lucky,
picked the best of a lot.
Don't pay more than 4-5 bucks at a store. The markup on these is HUGE,
and a mud bowl (non glazed clay) should only be $2 if that's your only
choice.
Keep with ceramics. They're inexpensive, distribute heat well, last, and are OK to handle while hot (bottom stem).
