Sonthert Posted January 21, 2006 Share Posted January 21, 2006 Several possibilities come to mind:1. Hoses and hookahs are often packed for shipping in sawdust or wood shavings. This stuff could be coming from the hose/2. New hoses often "shed" particles. They tend to be pieces of wood, plastic oe glue that is loose and gets dislodged by the flow of air. 3. Some less scrupulous or uncaring retailers will improperly store or knowingly buy "seconds" that are damaged (to make more money). your hose could be already partially rusted. Are the particles that come out white/grey or brown/black?If they are white/grey, then one of the first two suggestions is true and the hose will fix itself, probably. Just keep smoking.If the particles are red/brown,. they are rust and you should see what the retailers intends to do about replacement. Make sure they pay for return shipping.
