Gripe On Multiple / Single Hose Hookahs

Recommended Posts

Anyone else notice that on many hookah sites it's becoming more and more difficult to find just a nice single hose hookah? Seems that many sites are offering FAR more multiple-hose hookahs than they are singles..

For instance, I would love to have a simple and elegant single hose syrian from hookah-shisha.. I bought my original hookah from them 2 years ago and want another single hose syrian. But every syrian they sell is a multiple hose. wtf?

I know that the multiple-hose hookahs are becoming quite attractive to people who haven't smoked before, due to their looks and social aspect.. However, I think there is a large market out there for people like myself who want just a simple single hose hookah...

I personly don't like multy hose Hookahs. I like the interaction that comes with a single hose Hookah. In fact alll we carry is single hose Hookahs.I may order a multi hose for a customer.but before I do I explain the pros and cons to both.Useually they end up leaving with a single hose hookah. Very Happy
The Hookah Club will only have Single Hose Hookahs for you guys to get.

yes i have noticed that, and i think that single hose hookah are better because you have to draw harder with multi hose hookahs, also it may turn first time smokers down because they had a bad experience with them.

when i am at a hookah bar, and they only have multi-hose hookahs or rotators i usually ask if they have an egyptian somewhere or if i can smoke out of the display one. Multi hose hookahs suck

I think it would be safe to say, after reading the topics about multi vs. single, that in general people on these boards support single hose hookahs. The thing about it is that any argument that can be made for the benefit of a multiple hose hookah can be refuted with opinions of a single hose. Socially, it is more relaxing to sit with a group of people and be able to talk without having the conversation interrupted with puffing, and in some cases when a person has the hose- it forces them to shut up for a min. But let's be honest, 4 hoses spilling out the stem looks fairly impressive, esp to people who don't know better...

I don't know what ya'll are smoking... but DON'T pass that stuff!

I love my multi hose hookahs. I own 2. I have a SS Sirius II that I use as my daily smoker.... If i don't want to smoke 2 hoses, I plug one end and use one hose. Smokes like a champ every single time. (yes pun intended)

Then I have a 6 hose rotator. Yes, this thing is a freakin monster. But with a nice phunnel and lots of coal... well, I have 6 very very happy people. Again, if I want to cut it down to say only 2 or 3, I just plug it and go with it. Still smokes great, no air leakage.

I also happen to of had a junior modern... and it smoked like any of the 2 I listed above. So get over the whole multi hose thing, multi hosers are good, and you can always make them a single.

I agree with this 100%, and I think this is the reason for the trend towards more multi-hose options on sites than singles.. (read - marketing ploy to the uneducated)

Singles look better IMO, great for single sessions or social sessions.. easier to clean, cheaper, etc, etc... oh well.. glad many on here agree with me! smile.gif

My first hookah was a single, but I upgraded it to a double and I think it smokes the same. More hoses for each person makes things more convenient, but me and my hookah buddy recently have been smoking a 1-hoser and its just as nice.

Personal preference people.. I have a couple single hosers and a couple multi-hosers, and each have their own gains/faults. I always tell people to go with what THEY like best, and stop following the crowds. If you like multi-hose hookahs and they smoke great in your opinion, then theres nothing wrong with that.

That aside, I do prefer my single hose over my multi's.

My MYA has the auto-seal hose thingys. No holding the hose shut. Nicee, and makes a 2 hose hookah fine to smoke alone, just take off the extra hose smile.gif

yyea i wouldnt mind having the mya acrylic 2 hose with the autoseal but besides tht im not much of a multi hose

I use and have both single hose and multi hose. My friends and I currently put the 3 hose to use a lot. It smokes well, it actually rather small and has an auto seal also. It really depends on the quality and design on the multi hose pipe. We previously had a cheap 4 hose pipe and it did not smoke well nor did it seal well either. needless to say it was retired in favor of a nice single hose.

I agree completely Yash; to each his own, and I'm sure that a good quality multi-hose smokes just as good as a single-hose of similar quality.

My complaint was that I think good looking, simple, elegant single-hose hookahs are getting harder to come by in online shops, and are getting phased out by multi-hose hookahs..
