Those Bastards Did It Again!

QUOTE
A US woman on a boat off the Florida Keys has died after a stingray leapt up and struck her in the face.

Judy Kay Zagorski was boating with her family in the Atlantic Ocean when the 75lb (34kg) spotted eagle ray hit her.

---
In September 2006, Australian TV naturalist Steve Irwin died when a stingray's barb punctured his heart as he filmed at Queensland's Great Barrier Reef.

A month later, an 81-year-old Florida man was lucky to survive after a stingray landed in his boat and left a foot-long barb in his chest.

We're like 2 attacks away from being more likely, in the West, to be killed by a stingray than by a terrorist. I think they're sort of like the planet's shock troops, against its human enemy.

Bush's next war imo.

Extra tidbit: I went as a stingray the halloween before last. Edited by gaia.plateau

we are way way far from that, true that people die from other causes. but serioulsy over 3k ppl died from the trade center attacks.

as far as the wars, the war now is only against terrorists. the one in africa and the one in iraq. you may not agree with the war in iraq, or how it began, but it did begin and al quaeda is in iraq, and thats why we are still in there. the wars going to go on for a while. i dont see the us pulling out of iraq in the near future.

That was one instance, there have been three instances of stingray attacks in only two years!

You realize that this thread is satirical, right? tongue.gif

Anyway, let's look at the reality of the odds if you want to tongue.gif

1 in 77 of dying in a transport accident
1 in 197 of dying in a homicide
1 in 299 of dying in an assault from a firearm
1 in 5,330 of dying in an assault by hanging or strangulation
1 in 6,842 in a railway accident
1 in 7,972 in a drowning accident
1 in 8,389 due to excessive cold
1 in 9,396 due to excessive heat
1 in 10,010 by falling from a ladder or scaffolding
1 in 10,455 of dying in your bathtub
1 in 20,605 in your clothes igniting
1 in 37,089 due to falling into a hole
1 in 55,928 of death by lightening
1 in 76,597 due to bee, wasp or hornet stings
1 in 88,000 of a terrorist attack
1 in 91,710 of a stingray attack

1 in 207,261 in operations of war

There you have it, stingrays are a very real danger to you and your family. They want to destroy your way of life and rape your children. The stingrays hate freedom and democracy, and their philosophy goes against everything your great nation was founded upon! Edited by gaia.plateau

too bad i don't even get near the water, which in that case the chances of me dying from a stingray are virtually zero.

terrorists on the other hand, can anthrax me while gaia.plateau is sucking on my small penis.

tyour just being irrational because you dont agree with the war.

of course more people die from other causes then terrorists to say otherwise is stupid, but im not arguing that point, im saying that they are out there and we need to take them out. its fine that you disagree, i really dont care.

I'll assume you meant "you're", since the HookahForum member Tyour145 hasn't posted in this thread.

So facts are irrational now, yet everything out of Bill O'Reilly's mouth is incontestable truth. Mmhmmm. Edited by gaia.plateau

We're typing in a thread proposing a world war against stingrays.

I have to go to work now.

+1

but you did make the thread in the serious discussion part of the thread.

i firmly believe that the stingray populaton advocates peace and a harmonious existence with humans. that being said, i feel these recent attacks are not endorsed by the stingray nation, but have been organized by a rogue faction of stingrays bent on freeing their brothers and sisters being held captive in the "pet a stingray" pool at Sea World. it is in our best interests to release these creatures to prevent further loss of human life.

I absolutely despise that damn leprechaun! Put a stake through his clover leaf, and bury him under a rainbow somewhere.

He is a 100% hypocrytical, arrogant jerk who (somehow) manages to take a 10 second news blip, and drag it into the most painful hour I can imagine. I would rather listen to 24 hours of "Air-America" and Al Frankenstein making GW jokes.. with toothpicks holding my eyelids open, than 1 bill oriley hour.

No spin, Fair and balanced!!! I believe that, Don't you? Send him out for a boat ride in the stingrays!

Actually there is something to be said about the sting rays attacking people there was an article in February's GQ entitled "Violence of The Lambs" that discusses some very odd attacks happening between wild animals and humans.... "In bombay early this year a, a pack of leopards entered the town - just sauntered out of the forest at the heart of the city - and murderd a total of 22 people." And I shit you not... "In America, where animals have perhaps a freer recourse to weapons, at least four people have been shot by their dogs in the past two years. One incident involved a stungun. One reportedly took place while the animal was being beaten, its owner hoped, to death. That killing, then, could truly be described as self defense." Can't make this shit up, article's on pg 116, Issue has Rachel Bilson on the cover. probably the most entertaining thing I've read in that absurd "You've got to be f----ing Kidding me!" kind of way, but its there in print, in GQ... which kinda makes it that much funnier.

Of course you know theres only one answer... we have round up all suspicous animals and torture them to prevent future attacks. Edited by J-thehookaholic

We've been systematically destroying their world for thousands of years... can't blame them for fighting back. Go Leopards.

One would think that lacking opposable thumbs would make this difficult.

I thought that too with the dog. I was like "but how....?" and serious how the f*ck does a dog shoot a gun.
Btw that stringray or whatever it is... looks highly suspicous, better blow dry it. Edited by J-thehookaholic

Its mouth looks like something a very drunk male swimmer would try to make love to....how can you possibly be scared of that? Dont tell me you werent thinking that looking at it.

And I could see a curious dog pawing at a gun and ending up somehow clawing the trigger, you think 1-2 deaths a year in a population of 330-350 million people, it could happen.
