1. Saw this and thought you guys might want to know. - please note that I do not represent the company in any way. "MESSAGE FROM SANTINO AT CROWNHOOKAHS thought this was important Well, this is rather unfortunate, but I knew it was going to happen. For 4 years I've been putting my blood, sweat, and tears into making this happen. I knew all along, EVENTUALLY someone would try to compete with me, however I didn't think it would be like this. It has come to my attention that someone (still unknown) has been knocking my stuff off. I welcome competition, I knew this would happen, but I figured it would be someone coming out with their own designs of mouth pieces and bowls. Boy was I wrong. Someone has been taking my pictures of my glass and taking them to glass blowers to get them recreated. The micro funnel, the crown classic, the orbs, and more mouth pieces. Fairly soon you will see some website pop up with copies of my stuff. From my understanding they are pretty terrible copies, but none the less, it's easy to hide flaws in photographs. I'm not going to tell you where to buy your stuff, free enterprise and all that, but I would like you to know that the ONLY place to get legitimate Crown Hookahs products is from my website, or Aztec Highway in Salt Lake City (and possibly more places in the future, which I will let everyone know they are legit.) I understand that almost all of you reading this have been loyal to me, and I thank you for that, I just wanted you to know what was right around the corner, and it is NOT Crown Hookahs. It is NOT for the passion, it is for profit. Something that is completely opposite of us. It makes my stomach turn knowing someone who obviously wasn't capable of free thought or design literally jacked my designs that I have been perfecting for years now (even before CH was even open.) Buyer beware."
2. I didn't even think about the flexibility.... Could I use JUST silicone or is it too flexible? I don't want any kinks or suction collapses. How much do you think a 4' length of 5/8" - 3/4" silicone tubing would run me?
3. True, but when you wash the hose, the outside tends to get wet too. I'd rather play it safe, but I like the medical silicone idea. Is that stuff pretty expensive?
4. Hey guys & gals. I've always wanted to make a steel braided hookah hose that was washable. Problem is, steel rusts. A lot. So should I use aluminum? Stainless steel? What's going to be the cheapest and/or easiest to cut? What's the most durable? Thanks in advance!
5. Nice. I might try this on my egy. I'll just pack it around the outside and leave the holes open like a vortex.
6. It seems like something worth trying if you made a bowl like this out of ceramic... With the shisha in the middle and the holes around the shisha... Just DONT line your bowl with foil. You'll be trying to scrape that crap off of there for days. Very inventive though man! I like it and I might try to make one.
7. Reguardless of what you put into your hookah, you should clean it before and after each use to make SURE nothing grows in there. That being said, I've tried adding, milk and lemon juice (not together) to the water in the base. It didn't do jack, no matter how much I put in there. Lemonade, gatorade, 7up, orange soda, ginger ale, vodka, and cranberry juice are all things I've put in the base (also not all together) and I'll tell you that you should just stick to water. A good flavor of shisha and a cold base make for a better smoking experience than anything else.
8.
a lot of people say the coals wont get oxygen passing though so they wont heat up when you inhale
The premise of the upside-down design is to keep your bowl hot when you're not pulling through it. You still have to pull hot air into the bowl to steam the shisha. This hot air comes from a very close proximity around the coals, so you still have to get the bowl to touch or almost touch the coals. A perk of this design is if it gets harsh, you just lower the coals and let more cold air get to it. You can't raise & lower the coals on a normal design.
9. I've never had a problem coming here on Chrome (Win7 64)
10. Thanks for the warm welcome! Sorry, I'm still getting used to the forum layout here.
11. Hey everyone. I just ran across the forum and thought it would be a good place to connect with fellow hookah enthusiasts! This forum looks a little more laid back and casual compared to some other hookah-themed forums I've been on. Anyways, greetings from Colorado!
