1.
I have zero family members that have had the pig blood, horse blood, cow pox pus from diseased cows, rabbit brain tissue, dog kidney tissue, monkey kidney cell culture, contaminated poultry ovum, formaldehyde, mercury, and aluminum phosphate, (and on... and on... and on...) injected or fed to any of us. Health issues around here are markedly less than the average family. I bet you have been to the slash/poison/burn-Dr more in the last 3 years than I have been in the last 30. Between 1986 and 2008 the gov't paid out more than 1, 800,000,000.00 dollars to victims of injuries from vaccines. Sure, line up, and roll up that sleeve - sheeple, no saving them, don't even try Dr. Smokes, it's not worth the effort.
More nut jobs infecting and killing our kids. Great. Remind me to stay away from wherever you live.
 2. The bottom line is that someone really should do some serious, diligent, unbiased trials comparing hookah smoking to cigarettes and other forms of tobacco use. There just seems to be an absolute paucity of original, non-extrapolation based research.
 3. Can anyone ID this, out of curiosity: http://atlanta.craig...2960592585.html ?
 4.
aaaaaand ive been thread jacked lol, this was supposed to be about zombies BUT this turned out WAY more interesting
Yeah, sorry; when it comes to people spewing anti-vax nonsense, I'm almost incapable of remaining silent.
 5. All that being said, pretty gutsy just carrying it around like that. I would totally knock off the coal and burn the shit out of my arm.
 6.
I don't smoke anything that would break the rules
I don't know why, but this immediately made me think the rest of that was, "...but I absolutely put crumpled bits of newspaper into the bowl and smoke the crap out of it!"
 7.
Its probably the flavor because most Mint flavors do this to people because the cooling effect just is to much for them and that flavor mix is called Grannie Pannies lol rose mint, but like Melon Blend (tangiers) makes me do that thats why i got rid of 500gm of it lol
Nah. OP said he gets this with ANY flavor now.
 8. One amendment: the ones above, I believe, do not come with washable hoses. That's an accessory I would highly recommend investing in for the long haul. Fancy Hose/NuHose, Razan, Narbish, Nogoom. Any of 'em are worth a pick up along with it if you can swing it. Even with one, it should keep your total expenditures under $100, well below your price cap, leaving lots of room for tobacco & coal purchases. I'd also highly recommend going with coconut and/or silver tab Japanese-style coals, and getting a small, electric single burner to light them (unless you live in a studio apartment where your stove is pretty close to your hookah).
 9.
You'll just die a slow unhealthy death without people like me trying to save the world.
I certainly might, from smoking. So might you, as it happens. I certainly won't die from the measles, or polio, thanks to vaccines. Sadly (deeply sadly), this is something I can't say for the poor children your cause has killed already, and may yet kill in the future.
 10.

how deep down your throat are you pushing the hose exactly...?
Ha!
No, seriously. That's a good question. With me, even sticking the hose in just a little bit further than usual can give me gag reflex when I don't get it at all otherwise. Also, I've never gotten it off a narrow mouth tip. Only wider ones like Nammor and KM.
 11. A thought: If you're really really keen on the "blacked out" stuff, why not pick out a truly well-built, maybe all-brass hookah, a vase and hose you love, and then have the stem electroplated or powder coated locally? Given the price of this blacked-out KM I don't think doing it custom would cost you any more, and you'd almost certainly end up with a better hookah, and a unique one to boot.
 12. Buy a hookah that doesn't rust. You want to go for something made of brass, rather than aluminum, or cheap "stainless steel." Chances are, if you bought it in the vast, vast majority of local shops, it's a poorly made, rust-loving Chinese model. Go for a reputable brand for your next one: Khalil Mamoon, Farida, Elmas, Nawras, Mya Saray (NOT "econo Mya"). You want something at least whose core is brass, if not the entire hookah stem. Check out the site's vendor discounts. And of course, no matter what you get, clean them regularly. Also, get a washable hose: Khalil Mamoon makes some. There's also the Razan, the Narbish, the Nammor, the Fancy Hose/NuHose, and a hose of others.
 13. More of what appears to be asking insane prices for Chinese knockoffs: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/app/2953988842.html
 14. Honestly, I think the whole debate re: inflation and cheese and shit could've been avoided if we'd just talked about the last decade or so. When I started driving in 2001, gas near me could be had for $0.75 per gallon. Now it's 5 times that on a good day. That's a big difference for 11 years. Hell, if you just look at where it was in October-November 2010, it was down in the $2.50 per gallon range. Still, $250+ to fill up a tank? Tell me you don't drive that around town to pick up that Muenster.
 15.
I'm going to stop wasting my breath on people who have their heads stuck so far up some holes and are too afraid to actually do some research.
You must breathe pretty hard while typing if that's an issue here. Maybe it's from all those arrogant assumptions you're making about what research other people have and have not done.
I won't be replying back to here as there is nothing more to say.
That is excellent news. The less anti-vaxxers speak, the better for everyone.
 16.
Did you know that the litigations against him have been dropped because his studies were actually scientific?
Simply, flatly untrue. The main study re: MMR was not scientifically rigorous or valid. Only 12 children were included in the study, and their records were faked to begin with, and did not match up with their previous records. The majority of the children had shown signs of autism prior to the examination. More importantly, since then, studies have been conducted in nearly every first world country, from independent (read: Non-"Big Pharma") sources, much more rigorous than just 12 children with faked records, and have consistently, repeatedly found that there is absolutely no connection whatsoever between the vaccines and autism.
Just because he was on the payroll of a lawyer doesn't mean shit.
It doesn't mean "shit." It does mean that the doctor's motivations are at best questionable. However, you are right to point out that this doesn't necessarily mean the study is invalid. However, the actual facts of the case do this already.
All the studies done for drugs are paid for by the pharma company wanting to sell them...
Not true. Pharmaceutical companies do test their drugs, which is required of them by law. Independent studies, however, are also conducted all the time, for various reasons.
Good luck trying to find a scientific method study done with drugs.
Toss a rock at a medical journal; you'll hit one.
Man, you guys really need to do some of your own research and not listen to what other people say.
Mirror, sir; mirror.
99% of the medications on the market aren't even scientifically studied correctly.
Pretty sure you just pulled that one out of thin air, but I'll bite. Source?
And if you think that anti-vax people are causing diseases,
It's a plain fact. They are causing diseases. Because of them, vaccination numbers have dropped significantly in the US and UK. We have lost herd immunity on, for example, the measles, which has caused many, many illnesses, as well as some deaths.
There's tons of information showing exactly why vaccines don't work, showing correlations to many other diseases, and all the information on ALL THE TOXINS you are injecting directly into your blood stream.
Yes, I am aware that anti-vaxxers like to twist actual facts and make up others, as well as express their ignorance about medical science, loudly and publicly. I've been exposed to a woeful amount of it over the years. Fact is, it's all bogus. The "toxins" bit there is particularly laughable; do you even know what a vaccine is? Or what a toxin is?
 17.

DrSmokes - therapy is available. Get help now. Z
It's people like you that need to do a lil reading every once in a while. I have to do research, as I'm a health care practitioner. I can't help it if I've looked passed the smoke and mirrors and fear mongering of the government, big pharma, and the medical establishment. But thank you for your concern, I'm doing just fine and will continue to be fine.
Yeah, no. Vaccines save lives. People who aren't vaccinating their children due to this poisonous conspiracy fear mongering is causing thousands of pointless illnesses, and so far has cost hundreds of people in the US and the UK their lives. The appearance of HIV had nothing to do with vaccines. Every independent, scientifically rigorous test ever conducted has consistently debunked this anti-vax nonsense, and the rest is nothing more than paranoid conjecture, and it's killing people.
 18. Anyway, in my current situation, any small Mya is perfect for my needs. When I move again and have some more space, I'll probably prefer a KM or a Farida.
 19.
I thought all Mya's drew pretty much the same.
The hose port on Myas is very inconsistent. If you get a wide open one, they smoke wide open. If you get a closed up one, they're quite restricted. Just depends.
 20. http://atlanta.craig...2954305225.html The hose certainly looks like a typical Chinese one. Stem's a bit of an oddball, though. At any rate $100 seems beyond insane, unless I'm missing something pretty big.
 21. Honestly, my biggest thing is used hookahs on forums tend to go for pretty high prices for something that's undoubtedly been peppered with the germs of other people. Coming from headphones forums, used ones in great shape would still go for about half the street price or less, and that's just touchings someone's hair and skin. These things get germs from peoples' mouths. Just seems insane. The reason I was considering this one is that it was still significantly less expensive than I'd pay for a nice Egyptian new, and if it turned out it was exceptionally sturdy in person, it might have been well worth it. No way I'd pay $80-100 for a KM from a member on here when I could buy one brand new for $60 or less from a decent vendor.
 22. We were supposed to meet up this weekend. After saying he was available, dude flaked. Doesn't bode well for future dealings with him. I might take a look at it still just out of curiosity, but I doubt I'll be coming close to that asking price unless it's in great shape and built like a tank.

Makes it a lot easier to get a good smoke
I've been considering it. Maybe it's time...
If you want something a bit easier to carry around, Japanese-style coals like Fumari can be lit with a butane "windproof" lighter easily enough (just use the tongs to hold it while you light the various sides, and blow on it to make sure it's nice and lit all around). If you want to stick with QLs though, I'd definitely recommend going with Three Kings. Holland is just awful, awful stuff by comparison. Unless you're happy with what you've got; in that case, don't let our pretension get in your way. But yeah, I definitely echo the recommendations to ditch the Mya bowl. I've owned two of them, and had nothing but heat management troubles with either, even compared with a standard mod bowl, let alone a funnel or Egyptian.
Even easier than this, buy those coals, light them a bit, then buy a coal "spinner" that you place the coal in and then spin it in a big circle. Not only does it look impressive, but you can light natural lights just with a small bit of heat and like 3 minutes of spinning
We're talking about ease of smoking portably more than cool factor. That would be fine at home, but not as feasible on the go.

 25. I've got about 210ish grams of Nakhla Double Apple, 230ish grams of Salloum plain, and LOTS of Hookah Splash 'cognac' for trade. Of course, the latter two are quite, quite strong. If you don't care for the Tangiers buzz you'd probably not like them as much either.
