I am in Iraq now, but my USA home is in Lorton VA. When I return to the USA, in Sept, I would like to participate in a meetup. Once I get unpacked, we could even meet at my town-house. Looking forward to it.

I'll second Aladdin's. Their grape is sooooo good.
I'm actually pretty good friends with the owner of Oasis. He also owns a hookah wharehouse called Kahn El-Kalili, a little farther down Rt. 7. Everything you need, even decor for your room. Really cool guy. He just got some stuff in in these huge drums that's crazy good. He only got it in Double Apple, Grape and Peach though. You can try that stuff out at Oasis.
Prince shisha sucks like no other, bunch of underagers, and the music is a little loud. I only go there sometimes, to smoke with one of the waiters that I know.
Oh and I'm for sure down for a meet.

I would like to learn some more about Oasis and Kahn El-Kalili. I live in Lorton,VA, and I would like to patronize a good shop in the local area, instead of relying on internet so much. Do these establishments have web sites?

True. Only reason I use to goto Prince Cafe is their cheaper prices compared to some of the other places.

There was this one place about 5 minutes away from the Skyline in VA (where Oasis, etc.) are located but can't remember it's name. The settings, prices & shisha of that place were awesome but surprisingly, there were barely any people; the place was huge too. When we went to skyline (to prince, oasis, etc.), they were packed & dull so I was wondering why some of the people didn't goto the other one instead.

Is Aladdin also near Skyline? In Alexandria I believe. Edited by Gaara

Man, i wish some of you where alittle lower in the State. I'm stuck way down at the tip in Norfolk - and my poor beater of a car isn't up to a 3-4 hour roads trip anymore! *pout* sad.gif

Aladdin's is right next to like Oasis and the other places on skyline. I have been there a few times. Its a drive from b-more but their hookah really does taste amazing; they got their shit down. Tho the crowd that seems to go there + the atmosphere is a little sleep.gif

other than naxla (i get mine @ lebanese taverna in silver spring ($5) or sam's in rockville which is worth getting gelato in there as well!) & faxr, i don't c any other brand. but then again, i really haven't been searching.

Does anyone know a store in MD/DC that carry something other than Naklha? Seems like that's the only thing people sell around here. Edited by Gaara

stores: i did some scouting but other than nakla & al fakhr, no luck...

al nakheel - vienna, va
yas bakery - vienna, va
assal - vienna, va
sauson - vienna, va

guess where in virginia i wuz @? rolleyes.gif good thing about this is that you can prob get almost all nakhla & al fakher flavors without much struggle. @ assal, i did find "easy" quicklites from japan rather than the standard 3kings quicklites everyone has. and @ sauson, i saw something that appeared to be natural coals. i never used natural so i wouldn't know and they were in a red plastic bag with black writing. i couldn't see inside. the persian script was in a style i couldn't read. i felt through the plastic and it felt like chunks of chipped something smiliar to wood. sauson probably had more stuff up top but didn't have time. all of the stores sold mya saray for obvious reasons being they are local and all.

lb - other than the shameless plug, rolleyes.gif we live in dc. we actually can see theivery/esl artists every month free instead of paying for it as well as chill @ esl itself. laugh.gif i think we (me) are more trying to hookup @ a shisha bar or do something shisha-related... scalli-style.

camel - wuz slacking on reading the forum. i would have mos def tried to hookup!

clown - u'r prob in sam's market more than me! but i go there mainly for gelato (i can't make the right rose & saffron mixture for my homemade ice cream!) & shopping.

gaara & clown: we are probably 10 minutes apart from each other. maybe we can do something on the md side?

Old thread, but on the idea of a DC area meetup intrigues, I'm kind of anti-social on the forums but I'd really like to meet some fellow hookahteers in person. Did this already happen, and regardless, is anyone interested in doing it again? There's a nice place up this way in Towson, MD that just opened up, and if anyone lives in the area it'd be fun to check it out. Tobacco Center Cafe on Joppa road. Mya hookahs, middle-eastern pop music and good coffee. It's not fancy, but it's practical.

How is it compared to that other Hookah place? (Ice Hookah?)

Also, does anyone know a place with variety that sells Hookah's (not the Shisha)?

eh for hookahs gaara just run down to the mya store. i went down there the other day from UMBC, only about an hour or so drive. take local roads tho... u will hit a $3.20 toll on 606 right before the exit for the mya store. Haha, i got a sneek peek at one of their new designs that they were trying out. it was oh 19-21 inch and had the word $ PIMP $ on the base.
