standard MYA bowl (came with my QT)..

I like the looks of this bowl, and it's quite sturdy.. however, I must say that I think it's too deep.. I get good smokes out of it, but I always seem to have 6 or 8 grams of leftover shisha in the bottom of the bowl that I can't get to smoke for the life of me..

I actually prefer my old generic 15 gram shallow clay bowl to it...

Ditto on the mya bowl being too deep. Its also kind of small diameter wise so you're not left with much room to move your coal around. The inside is not glazed so flavor may linger (especially with a strong mint or something) and w/o glaze, it also gets stained by burnt on shisha. For me, this is more of a backup bowl in case the one we're smoking isn't done yet but we want to have another flavor ready when its toast.

how would a bowl spontaneously break itself? Especially unsmoked, ergo unheated?

I have the Lebanese / Syrian style bowl and quite like it. If you're finding you have leftover tobacco unburnt after a smoke, use larger coals or pack less shisha in wink.gif

i just got one with my qt, only had one session with it but it was nice, i didnt pack it to the brim, it sucks how badly it stains, looks horrible now

I am really good with cleaning my hookah after each use, and I am very frustrated with the bowl that came with my Mya hookah. It's badly stained after about 10-15 uses and it makes me so irritated every time I use it. I just ordered a new bowl so hopefully it wont stain.

i like to think of it as some chefs look at their wooden spoons or firestones
the darker and more stained, the better, it just means its been used, it has experience, and is a well liked bowl.

I would agree.

I just mine today. For a few bucks I think that it's worth it. Smoking it right now and it fully heated up before my first puff which was pretty damn quick. I also think that this bowl might be best for single person sessions. You can pack what you need and still not have too close to the coals so it won't burn as much when it does. I use a full coal not broken up (3 Kings 33mm) and just keep it far on the edges. Works just fine for me and I actually prefer it to the small modern one that came with my hookah.

I've used the shallow bowls and the deeper Mya bowls. I found the trick with the Mya is to use more charcoal and constantly move it, and if you still have wasted shisha, but a layer of foil underneath the shisha then another on top. The double layer also makes it easier to clean and less prone to stains, but it will still stain some.

Mya Bowl
came with my Qt

This bowl is actually very good. Especially if you are only looking for a solo session that would last probably an hour or an hour and a half. Looks good and quite small. One thing that I have to mention though is that the inside of the bowl is not glazed. So this bowl does stain, especially at the rim where the coals usually are.

The stains on my bowl, have only used this for about 10 times.

It's size compared to the medium phunnel.

I bought a MYA bowl at a shop because that was all they had at the time, and I wanted a bigger bowl than the one that came with my KM Ice. I really dislike it. I dont know if it is my mind playing tricks on me, but my shisha tasted different than my glazed egyptian bowl... Big issue I have is all the shisha left on the bottom of the bowl after I smoke for over an hour or two

Mya bowl from my QT-

Not crazy about it at all. It's a good-sized bowl, but it stains because it's not glazed. I too, have the issue of unburnt tobacco left in the very bottom after done smoking. Even if I put more coals and try to smoke the unburnt tobacco, the flavor's just not there- so basically the tobacco in the bottom is a loss. Think I'm going to replace this bowl with a good glazed one. Keep this one as a backup.

The bowl that came with my Bambino was a Mya, as it should be. I found it thin and cheap. It did okay with the shisha, I guess, but cracked right in half one day when I was putting it on the stem. It didn't break my heart to lose it. I much preferred my other bowls to it anyway.

As to the stains, who cares? It's like drinking tea out of the same tea cup everyday--eventually you're going to have a brown cup. Resins and colorings in the shisha are going to stain, big deal. It doesn't hurt a thing. It's just a sign that the bowl is getting used! A spotless looking bowl isn't going to give you any better a session than a heavily stained bowl. And it's not like you can see the inside of the bowl during a session anyway.

Overall: 7/10 Well the Bowl is more egg shaped inside. So you need to pack it loose to make sure you can cache it all. It’s not a bad bowl, but it’s not great. Great for a Starbuzz or Nakhla Short Session.
