I plan on experimenting with different gauge wire soon. I want to get a little better at building coils with 28g first. I have a buddy who wants some of my 28g 100 feet roll, so this may be the perfect excuse to buy some other gauges... :)

28 is actually the hardest to work with. 26/24 is easier since it's not springy and it doesn't snap under the RDA screws

Ah, so if I get really good using 28g then the 22 and 24 should be a breeze. :)

So far, I haven't had any of the 28g wire snap under the screws. Yet.

Exactly. I have wire snap all the time. Damn OCD tendencies. You'll have no problem with higher gauge wire. I prefer it because you can get lower ohm dual coils. Like I have 8 wraps of 24g that ohms out at .3 but it has some ramp up time which I enjoy since it doesn't scorch the juice instantly.

So what exactly does 24g wire give ya? I think I was digging my first .6 ohm build over my current 1.1 ohm build... So thinking lower is the way to go.

Rebuilt these today, running in between 0.4 and 0.8 ohms. The 0.4 ohm build has 2 strands of twisted 28g kanthal, twisted together again. It takes about 4 seconds to heat up completely, but the vapor production is insane. And surprisingly, it's the smoothest vape I've had to date! Not "hot" at all. The other two builds are parallel coils with single strands of 28g kanthal.

In the Hades I have MBV Hawk Sauce, in the AR I have MBV Bananas Gone Nuts, in the King I have MBV Cinnamon Roll. They are all clone mods and atomizers, you can hate all you want but everything in that picture (minus batteries and juice) cost me $110. You can't even buy an authentic mod for that price! Not pictured is my 60w Raptor and (in the mail) DNA 30 box mods.

Ahhh I'm super jelly! Nice setups, man!

Yeah, no way I'd buy authentic with how expensive they are. My Nemesis clone works so well, I can't understand why I'd need the real one. Seems to me like the guys who buy authentic mech mods are just doing so for bragging rights. *shrugs*

I mean I totally understand supporting the original creators... but not at those prices. Bohos, in my opinion, are overpriced but they reflect much more craftsmanship. But at the same time a $20 KM base might not look *as good* but it still serves the same purpose.

A mod is a glorified battery holder, and from what I've read even the authentic mods are ripping off high-end flashlights. Nobody should pay $200 for something that took an hour to design in AutoCAD. Clones wouldn't exist if manufacturers cut prices and increased production.

edit - just remembered the $180 AR mod is a ripoff of an assault rifle heat shield! I'm more than happy with my $25 version :)

Yep. If they just offered them at reasonable prices, clones wouldn't have to exist.

Mind posting pics of your coils on your three setups? Just interested in how they look. My first build was sloppy as fuck but at .6 ohms man was it nice. I need to learn consistency with my builds.

Best picture I could get without busting out the big camera. Not perfect (check out reddit.com/r/coilporn for the perfect builds) but as long as it glows evenly, I am happy.

They look way better than mine! How do you get them to look so good? Been trying to use my micro torch but even still they end up janky lookin.

I bought a "scratch & dent" version for $20 shipped but now they are selling for $35... I think you can find a cheaper one on the market.

What's the difference between this and a small Stanley screwdriver set?

Looking nice Chris. I need a Nemesis, for some reason I have the hybrid adapter for it but not the mod!

Cody I like the QVapes coiler because you can tighten the Kanthal in the top screw and pull on it with pliers to get everything really even and tight. You can do the same on an RBA deck... but I have arthritis and it's easier for me to work with larger objects.

I don't think it is beneficial for every vaper, but it takes a lot of my hand pain away.  But with a block of wood and some creativity, you could easily make a similar device for a considerably less amount. http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/ac54/Rader2146/eCigs/null_zpsbce40b13.jpg

Yeah, I'm gonna have to make something out of wood, because I just need a larger space to work with, and a way to get my coils nice, tight, and even. Thanks for that picture- I'm going to use it as a guide to make myself one.

Vaping GWAR Fluids Jizmoglbin this morning. What a great flavor! It's blueberry custard. Smacks you in the mouth with flavor! This has easily jumped to perhaps my number one flavor.

Today is a Fogger v4 full of Vape Kings Pina Colada... I really want to try out my other new MBV flavors (Cinnamon Roll, Dutch Apple Pie, Thug Juice, Apple Rings), but want to give them a few more days' steep time.

My coworker says I'm constantly in a cloud over on my side of the office, haha.

Yeah man I would give cinnamon roll a long steep if you can wait a bit. Mine's about a month old and it's just starting to shine

What I suspected. The last order from MBV most of the flavors were horrible when I tried them right away. Few weeks later was a different story, though. Guess that's the price to pay for cheap juice. Doesn't bother me though, as I have other stuff to vape right now.

Yup. It takes awhile but tastes better the more it steeps. Let it steep cap on in a dark area no light. I let mine steep in a dresser that's in the walkway of my attic which has no cooling so it gets a little warm too (which I heard helps the process)
