Sounds like someone can't make up their mind...

I'd rather have someone change their position on something, especially like this, than flat out lie.

I guess, but you gotta admit it's funny how he's been so vocal about being against the ACA, and now he admits he likes parts of it.... I'm sure many in the Republican party are happy with him right now... If he likes those key parts, then why was he so against it until now? What changed? My only guess is he said this statement to increase his poll numbers since Obama took more of a lead following the DNC. To me, it just confirms he will say whatever it takes to get elected. It would make more sense to me that if Romney likes key parts of the ACA, then he should have been saying this all along: "Since I like parts of 'Obamacare,' if elected, I would revise it to keep the parts that work and remove the parts that don't and/or offer a better solution." But that's not what the GOP wants, so he'd never say that. It would have given recognition to Obama, a democrat, that he was heading in the right direction when it comes to healthcare reform. Oh no, that'd be horrible for Republicans to say, we can't have that! This is why Clinton was awesome and the two parties should work together more instead of being divided so we end up with more prosperity in the middle class like we had in the 90s. Begone with this ignorant pettiness of not liking something just because the other party did/said it... <_<

Nobody has been listening. All through the Republican primaries most of the candidates were saying "repeal and replace". We all like some aspects of the ACA (e.g. covering pre-existing conditions) and some changes were needed. Now all that has to be done is get rid of the bad parts (e.g. individual mandate and Medicare cuts)

Remember, Romney did something similar when he was governor. Nobody is against reasonable reforms. Nice straw man, though.

Right gramps, and that's why it surprised me every time Romney screamed "repeal and replace" because of what he had previously done in Massachusetts. It just doesn't make any sense. His current statement on it now, about liking parts of it, should have been what he was saying this whole time. It would have been more consistent with the past and what he did as governor. Seems to me like he was just saying it this whole time to make Republicans happy, because that's what they wanted to hear.

See, I'm listening and paying attention. :)

There's a vast difference between doing something on a state level and doing it on a national level. States are supposed to be able to do stuff like that, while the Feds are supposed to be hands off. Each state is like an experiment, working on problems and finding what works and what doesn't. There's no Constitutional basis for a Federal takeover of that much of our economy despite what SCOTUS says. It's not the politicians I worry about controlling our health care. It's the career bureaucrats who are unelected and answer to nobody. Imagine a system with the efficiency of the Post Office and the caring of the DMV. Thanks, but no thanks.
