Do You Need A Purge Valve?

Recommended Posts

No, why would you do that?

Leaving the ball in the purge allows you to purge (remove) the smoke if the vase gets harsh by blowing into the hose even though it doesn't work so well with the common chamber in myas. Blocking the purge makes no sense at all. Leave the ball in there and don't block it off.

No, you don't need a purge valve. But I don't see a reason to get rid of it when you have one!

unless you mean the purge valve in the hose ports, if its a multi-hose pipe.

I'd recommend taking the balls out of those, just because they restrict the flow quite a bit. but then you have to make sure the other hose is always plugged by someones finger when you take a pull from your hose.

That is.. if it IS a multi-hose pipe

i recommend using a small water balloon instead of the valve if you are having issues

what can you say after a water balloon? :)

The only issue is you have to keep your ball clean. If it gets stuck it will leak air or mess up your purge. So while it is a little bit of work, keep the purge valve.

mine is rusted completely shut on one pipe, works fine on the other but really if you manage your heat well you wont need the purge :)

have you tried the torch method for getting the stuck one out?
