Obama Proposes Indefinite Detention

FYI, my Representative has a bill going forward to the Senate, so she was kind enough in her poll to give us all the toll free number to the US Senate, lol.....1-888-245-3381. Could be useful for anyone who REALLY wants to express a direct opinion. I gather you just ask for your particular Senator at the main number.

because the dogs and cats are smarter.
Unless one is trying to eat the other they are happy to just be dogs and cats.

If terrorism is being used as a tactic (whoever does it), the one and only effective defense is to not be afraid. Everything we've done here in this country has been reactionary and out of fear of what might happen. The way to win would be to take the casualties and show no fear. Hell, we kill each other with guns, knives, and vehicles at a far greater rate than any terrorist could ever hope for.

Either that or our government is just using terrorism as a way to gain even more power and take away more of our rights.

Methinks the second statement is probably closer to the truth. And I blame both parties. When you vote, if you recognize one of the names in a race, vote for the other candidate.

Yeah, I heard about that indefinite detention...

Crazy stuff for sure. Seems like the govt can do anythign they want...they do this by disguising it with the whole "protecting you from the terrorists" kinda thing.

The people should rule a country...not one man..or a small group of elites.

I read today that the New York City police department is developing a technology to scan pedestrians for guns. Non evasive, you wouldn;t even know its being done and what you would catch are citizens who carry illegal guns for protection. I lived in New York City for 14 years, its a wonderful town, I never encountered any trouble, but fear breeds more fear and there are alot of people packing illegal heat. Muggings and crime do happen, and its almost impossible to get a gun permit. Yet scanning innocents has got to violate the constitution somehow.

Sorry to bump this, but found this to be an interesting theory... http://www.addicting...on-struck-down/

Wonder if it was a "strategic maneuver" on the President's part...

I agree. It's VERY important in our society and the way our justice system works.
