What things do you guys use to forget about bad things going on in your life? Smoking Just makes me feel empty. I like smoking a lot though. I will just repeat what everyone else is saying, I don't smoke to forget anything, but I do smoke to relax when I am stressed as hell, and it helps. In fact, I often experience breakthroughs while smoking, about the problems that are bugging me at that time.

I guess that happens because it relaxes me and I can look beyond the all the stress and chaos and see the solution.

Smoking keeps me off the bottle.... I mean the wine barrel (I usually don't stop after one bottle of wine)

It's a less damaging vice.

To me there is no point in forgeting the things that bother you. You can only deal with those things. I will smoke to relax myself so I can clearly examine the issue. Besides, everything I'd want to forget, inevitably, made me the person I am.

While I don't smoke to forget things, I can kinda use it a temporary escape. Between being relaxed and more preoccupied with the process of getting everything ready, and heat management and the like, I don't think about the other stuff as much. But for the most part, I agree with every one else. When I smoke I normally think about my problems, and more clearly than usual.

I smoke to think about things rather than forget. it gives me a few hours to focus on the things in my life. Positive Negative and Neither.

I smoke at the end of the day so i can relax and think about whatever happened that day, or just to unwind and turn my mind off for a bit

Not to forget, but it is awesome to take yourself out of the game and think things thru. Smoking relaxes me enough that solutions come to me that wouldn't if I was muddled with other thoughts. I hope everything is ok?

Smoking hookah is usually the time I think about all the things that have gone on in the past. I never think about present stuff. I only review what I've done so I don't make the same mistakes.

Smoking usually just helps me relax, personally...after a long stressful day, its a good way to bring the day to an end slowly, especially if your smoking with friends and just talking. As a way to escape or forget problems, I learned they tend to just rear up and bite you right afterwords if you try to ignore them.

I like to smoke to remember things in my life. Different shisha brands and flavors can make me remember different times in life. For example Nakhla Two Apples reminds me of smoking 12 years ago. Many Nakhla flavors remind me of smoking years ago.

It is a good thing to take time to realign your thoughts, and to step back from what is pushing you through your day. Whether it is having a coffee, reading a book, or staring at the ceiling, or putting a coal on the hookah.

Take a little time in your day to determine if you are walking through your life, or if you are getting dragged by the ankle... And adjust it accordingly.

I might have to make this my footnote..

As others have noted, Shisha helps me relax more than anything. The act of setting up the hookah itself is like a calming ritual that I take my time with .

I used to smoke for relaxation. I haven't smoked in quite a while (recovering from illness). Lord knows I need it right now.

I used to go to my ex bffs house everyday and smoke and talk about all the things that bothered us. It was a really nice time. Too bad she turned out to be a bitch :D but other than that I miss those nights....I still smoke everyday lol it's just not the same when it's your bf or some friend you have you know? :/ this made me sad

I don't smoke to forget. I smoke to remember.

^ This. I'm one of those odd people who uses hookah as an aid to meditation when not smoking casually with friends. *shrug*
