Chreees Posted February 6, 2011 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Who watches Spartacus? Jay got me into the first season and I watched it all in two days and was hooked. Couldn't wait for season two. Unfortunately, Andy Whitfield, who plays Spartacus, has cancer and is going through chemo. So they decided to do Gods of the Arena, a prequel. I gotta admit, I didn't have high hopes. But it has pleasantly surprised me and I like it just as well as the first season, maybe even more. I do hope they continue the story of Spartacus, though, whether it be with Whitfield or not. I heard Lucretia is going to be back. Apparently that stab to the stomach wasn't enough to kill her. Wonder what's going to happen with that. Regardless of whether the writing is intact or not, I still hate when you're just supposed to drop an actor and pick up a new one. They're not the same. Especially for a show that's as expensive as Spartacus, it makes sense financially to go on without him. Also doesn't keep the fans waiting.
