$100 To Spend On A New Hookah! I Need Advice!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been smoking hookah for about a year and a half and really enjoy it. At the moment, I have a two hose "genie" hookah made by Sahara Smoke Co. (http://www.saharasmoke.com/store/catalog/Sahara-Genie-Bubble-Hookah-p-17102.html)

Anyway, it's getting old and has served me well, but I'm looking to buy a new hookah soon and was wondering if you guys could help me pick one. I have 100 dollars to spend on it, and I would like a hookah with 2 hoses and preferably some kind of bag for easy transportation. Thanks!

I'd look into some of the smaller Mya hookahs. Their bigger ones tend to get pricey, but they all smoke good. Also, Magdy Zaidan, makes some multi hoses. Mya will have a more modern look, and the MZs will have a more tradiotnal look.

I'm afraid i don't know the difference between traditional and modern hookahs. what is the difference?

and is my hookah currently (sahara smoke Co. "genie") a modern hookah?

if i recall, a little of both. Traditional stem more modern base.

Check on hookahcompany.com they have a good break down of modern vs traditional hookah types.

no, an accrylic base would be found on some types of modern hookahs.

www.myasaray.com is a good site for modern styles. Best on the market. For traditional hookahs, anything that looks like a middle-eastern hookah.

If you're really against getting a single hose hookah, then I would strongly suggest just buying a mya. For $100, you're going to have to get a small model but it's going to smoke well. The reason why I would suggest getting a mya is because of the auto-seal function (basically, you won't have to thumb one hose when someone else is trying to pull on the other hose). Honestly, this is probably how I would spend $100 if I were trying to buy a two hose setup:

Hookah-Shisha

2 Hose Mya QT ($59.99)
http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1726-mya-qt...ose-hookah.html

Heba Diffusor People say this is a waste of money but I think it's great to have for the smaller models. You could always make your own. ($9.95)

HookahJohn

Small Tangiers Phunnel ($14.95)

I would reconsider getting a one hose though!

This is exactly what I was going to suggest, if you absolutely have to have a two-hose. I personally had the Mya QT two-hose and it's an awesome hookah. Now I have a one-hose Al Fakher hookah, and a KM "OG" Trimetal one-hose on the way. If you reconsider getting a one-hose, the best hookah to get is a KM, hands down. It'll be a bit above your budget, most likely. Unless you get this one that my friend got:

http://www.hookahcompany.com/al_bakr_khali...rchQueryId=8416

It's the regular Trimetal, not the OG like I got. My friend's smokes amazingly. You can get it for $92 total using the hookahforum discount code. IMHO, the KM and AF's smoke better than the Myas. Just this guy's opinon, though.

Also, I've got the AF for sale right now. Gonna post it in the trades section later on. Keep in mind that one-hose can easily be passed between two people. But if you're going to have more than two most of the time, go ahead and get a two-hose Mya QT.

Yes, QT with phunnel.. excellent investment. I just got my QT today, and I own 2 large KMs and a smaller Mya, and the QT might be my new daily pipe to smoke. It's small, portable, easy to handle, goes great with a small Tang phunnel. I recommend getting a different hose for it, like a washable. The stock hose is pretty small, and non-washable. I'm using a regular sized Nammor with mine. You might want a larger ash tray for it too. The stock tray is just too small to do anything with. It's "cute" but pointless.

the only one i'd get for $100 or less is the Mya QT...the other Myas will set you back too much money and probably won't smoke any better than the QT...

can't find many KMs under $100 nowadays and I'm not a fan of a multi-hose KM anyways.
