Phunnel Bowl Doesn't Fit Right !

Recommended Posts

I have a phunnel bowl (I think the large or medium one) I bought from my local smoke shop..but the grommet it comes with didnt seal it on any of my hookahs! The piece where the bowl sits on the hookah was to small and it just sat inside of the clay bowl not sealing off any air. It was more of a cover than a seal.

How do you get your phunnel bowl to fit? I think I might of just gotten a bad phunnel bowl from my shop (or they just sell bad ones)

Thanks for your help!

I've never had any luck with the grommets they inlcude with the phunnels, i just wrap paper towels around the stem instead to get a nice seal. Or use the thin mya grommets...

I would order a new grommet. In the mean time you can use a wet paper towel wrapped around the stem to create a seal. You could also use electrical tape. Just build it up with the tape, enough so that the grommet makes a proper seal.

My new tangiers medium also doesn't fit on the Mya I have, even with the Very thin mya grommet..

using paper towels with great success biggrin.gif

Though, as an aside, would it be safe to use some 100 or 150 grit sand paper and thin it down? I'm worried I'll damage it

Chances are u may damage ur grommet unless you are VERY VERY VERY careful and have a ton of patience. Otherwise I would simply stick with the paper towel method. It has worked great for my friend after his grommet melted at a party a couple weeks ago....coals and rubber dont mix lol.
