cb1021 Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 I bought a regular large Nammor a while ago due to the hype created on this forum, but I like my KM regular hose (got it after the Nammor) better for the following reasons: the hose is thicker, the hose is shorter. both these features give you monster pulls without using up all your breath. also the KM is a heavy hose, the nammor is a styrofoam made in china product. also design of KM has much more style and character imo (subjective). also the Nammor tip is in a cube shape, also the tip is much larger than needed, considering the actual opening is not that wide. It is a good hose, much better then some of the crap out there, but like you said its harder for me to get monster rips off of it. I dont think you will lose out with either hose though. I've yet to try a KM hose, but the hose that came with my MZ is pretty tight... I still like the ability to clean my hose a bit more than anything. fifthmanstanding Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 odd. the hose that came with my km and had the km tag on it was damn near the same as my nammor, in fact the only difference that I can see is that the km hose is constructed from a steel wire coil wrapped in a plastic baggy-like tubing. I know this because the km hose I had got wet and the hard handle piece turned out to be nothing more than rolled up cardboard that got smooshed when it got wet. So I dissected the whole thing and refit the end into the section where the cardboard was before I cut it out. I'm disappointed that it did that, however I can't speak for my nammor either, no matter how many times I clean it or how much soap and water I use I still get the hookah phantom flavor while my km is still tasting almost as clean as it did the day I got it. no longer welcome Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 the km hoses do look better, but don't have the "washablilty" however, i spoke with eric of tangeirs once and he mentioend his tobacco smokes alot "drier" than others due to it being more natural and not using all the artificial junk that other shisha has. he had me smoke out of a 6 year old km leather hose that was just perfectly clean, go figure. Bulldog_916 Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 I think there's a reason for this. Leather breaths like live skin. Absorbs moisture and then lets it out like how skin does. So you wont have a rusting or oxidation issue with the leather hoses like you would with metal coiled hoses. I think that's why most original old school hoses last so long.
