QUOTE (KyleTheJustin @ Nov 23 2009, 09:23 AM) But still used lolWindowslol.

Macs are VERY overpriced, but I'll die before I get 6 gigs of RAM to accompany another piece of shit in a box known as Windows.

Windows 7 has been out for a month and people are already fucking annoyed with it. What's that saying?

QUOTE (Scoop @ Nov 21 2009, 01:33 AM) when i built my laptop it cost me 1200 for a top of the line lenovo t61 with better specs than a 2400 dollar macbook pro. i didn't want a 17" screen to get the best spec'd laptop either.

the pc i built cost me exactly a grand and was better spec'd than the top of the line macbook.

But still used lolWindowslol.

Ever wonder why HP, Dell, Gateway, and Intel stopped doing that "everything built in" crap.... only the fanboys liked it.

As a PC Tech for many years... there is nothing more annoying than working on that kind of system. Mac Techs...live in the "Repair Hell" that PC techs finally got out of.

In my opinion

PC for modders/gamers.

Mac for everybody else.
Somewhat true. I've been a PC user for most of my life, gave macs a try and they're just not for me. For engineering though, you simply cannot use a Mac. Sure you can use dualboot, but since some of the software I've been given by the local refineries is in excess of 20G's a copy, I stick with windows. I have to use programming and whatnot, and three of my friends in my college classes have had to use my laptop/desktops to do their assignments and such because, honestly, Mac isn't taught in our part of the campuses. So, PC for modders and gamers, along with people who crunch numbers and run models. I nod to a mac's superiority in some areas, though.

I can't speak for Mac since the last Mac I used was a Macintosh, but I really like my PC. I built it for about $400.00 and installed Ubuntu 9.10 on it. I like the fact I can build my computer and upgrade anything I wish. If there is something wrong, I can fix it without having to pay somebody a large sum of money to do it. Therfore, I am a PC owner for life.

Is it true that if you open up a Mac, you automatically void the warranty?

pc hands down, it has so many more capabilities, you can build them to your own specific needs (gaming, graphic arts, music, etc), they have more power, endless possibilities, and are constantly being updated to higher standards.

mac have the potential of eventually getting there, but as of now all they are good for is a paper weight and desktop arts.

Yeah honestly, try using a program like AutoCAD, or perhaps a game such as Crysis, Modern Warfare 2, oh or any other game that has better graphics than Diablo 2 (which i love)....my computer on average with my 27" monitor needs 2 gigs of ram running off the bat, with a game or a program that 4+ gigs is a must have for someone who actually uses a pc for things other than "word"....

and as to 6gigs of RAM, 4 gigs hasnt been fully utilized yet so unless you plan to run your porno in the back with a video game on, music playing, autocad running, and your girlfriend on the other line with skype there is no reason you need that much ram....
