ppl have said that i am very macguyver in that i can make and fix
anything with anything, i fixed a radar detector with duct tape and a
fortune cookie, i made a 100% effective coal lighitng chamber out of a
soda can and paper clips, and now i have made my own lighter, it all
started when i lost my ever-so-wonderful favorite lighter, i still cant
fidn it, but in the search i noted an old utilty lighter in the garage
i filled it and tested it but the flame was very weak and i could hear
a leak, so i open it up and lo and behold, the tank is very similar to
those cheapy dispoaseable lighters EXCEPT it is refillable, so then i
found an old disposeable lighter, i hoped it would be as easy as pop
the tops and swithc em, unfortunately lighter are made to hold in the
high pressure butane so instead i removed the valve, flint, knob,
button, windgaurd, and the little frame that held it all and tried to
attach it to the new one but it didnt fit, the spring that keeps the
flint tight against the roller is inside a case which was too long to
fit on the new tank, so it cut it, and then in the reduced space the
spring was too tight so i cut that too, finall i got everything
attached but the frame was just a tad too big to fit directly on the
new tank so when the valve button was pressed it would hit the tank and
not be far enoguh down to open the valve, so then i cut off the bottom
of the button so i could press it down all the way, and now everytihng
was finally set so i  popped the top on, glued it and in an hour i
had a functional, refillable lighter, i know the flint will eventually
wear away so i sitll need to find my good lighter, but this thing will
probably last for up to 2 years if need be, well that was a long and
pointless story, if you took the toruble to read it all i hoped you
found it interesting
