Hookah Broken? Impossibly Hard To Pull, Need Help.

Hey everyone,

So I bought a hookah online about two weeks ago, and it had been smoking great up until tonight. It's 19", glass base, two hoses with a ball bearing system in place so that the other hose never has to be plugged up. So tonight I packed it up and started to smoke, and it was extremely hard to pull on. When my sister and I tried to pull from both hoses at the same time, it was impossible, like it was completely clogged or something. I wash everything every time I use it, and take good care of it, and I even took everything apart and cleaned everything again tonight so that I could try to figure out the problem, but nothing worked. I was getting smoke, it just sucked to suck incredibly hard, and two people could not do it at the same time. If anyone has any ideas, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm going to try to get in contact with the site that sold it to me, but I really don't want to have to ship it back...

did you check to see if the ball bearings are possibly stuck?

Maybe something got stuck in your hose?

-You could have packed the shisha too tight, which can clog the bowl and make it difficult to get a good pull.
-The ball bearings could be stuck. My purge valves get stuck all the time, so if your hoses auto-seal you might need to poke them loose with a needle or something.

Ya. I havent heard of a multihoser that more than one person can suck at the same time. BUt as for tryint to solve the problem, i would say check to see if your balls are stuck. Then tell your sister not to suck on her hose while you are sucking on your hose.

coda you do realize that sounds really bad but yeah i cleaned mine after everyuse if your not using brushes GET SOME!! i didnt clean mine with em til i got em and i washed em all the time but when i used the brush the stuff that came out was pure black

Ok so for the record, i didnt mean it dirty. What i was tryin to tell the guy is that i dont think it will work well with two people tryin to hit it at the same time. But i will keep my previous post as is for the simple fact that the more i read it the more i laugh.

Yeah I actually took the ball bearings out and re-attached the hoses with the same result last night. I took the bowl off and tried the same things, and still got the same problems, leading me to believe it was either the hoses or the stem. I tried freakin everything. I'll try cleaning with brushes today, and I sent an email to the site that sold me it last night so we'll see what they say today. Thanks guys and if anyone else has any ideas keep em comin cause i want to go smoke!

Anyway, ok so your saying it's extremely hard to breathe in the smoke right?

Try just pulling on the hookah without the bowl on top. Get everything set up, but don't put a bowl on top and pull.

If it feels normal, then there is no obstruction, so you rule that out. Therefore, it has to be a problem in the bowl.

Either your:
a- packing the bowl too tight. Loose and even is the key.
b- not putting enough holes in the foil.

Now lets say that when you try pulling without a bowl it is hard to pull. This means that there could be gunk in your hookah anywhere from the stem to your hose.

Is your hose washable? If so, wash it, thoroughly. Remove the hose things on the stem and clean those thoroughly.

My Obelisk can it's not great pulls, but it's an upside to common chambers

As for the OP

Clean that bad boy. I usually do after ever session but lately it's been about every other. Trust me your hookah will love you for it. Use some Dawn and brushes your hookah came with. You might try replacing the BB's in the valves with Airsoft BB's. They are less likely to get stuff and make it easier to pull even if there is build up.

maybe you're water level is too high up the stem?

Yes im having the same problem, i try everything n it just doesn't wanna bubble even with water in it, i even took everything apart n cleaned it, and still the same problem, it just wont hitt i don't get,  its like its clogged but it doesn't make any sense i really need help too,
