Rule For Kicking Up Old Topics?

Would it be possible to have a rule about kicking up old topics? Lately I've seen alot of people with lower post counts kicking up old threads that have been settled and really don't have any questions left in it.

It's come up before.

But this isn't really a forum where we want 47,000 rules. There are enough people who can't read the one's we do have.

Plus it just means more work, more pm's, more people getting pissed off at rule enforcement.
I just don't think it's necessary.

And anyways, our own admin have been know to drag the odd ancient topic up tongue.gif

EDIT :- I take it your refering to 'abu-nesses' post in Nahkla unwashed? I agree, that was painfully pointless.

Also keep in mind we bitch when people just post the same question over and over again, now you want to bitch when someone brings up an older topic that covers their question and adds to it? Lets make up our minds folks.

I havent seen the specific post mentioned abover..but in general....

Thanks. I recently revived a "Starbuzz troubles" thread to ask a question about smoking Starbuzz. I *gasp* did a search before I asked my question and I thought that thread looked like a reasonable place to ask. I do hope it wasn't annoying to anyone - my thinking was, it's one less thread someone after me with questions about Starbuzz has to sort through.
