You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?

What grinds my gears is road rage. Every day on the news somebody got shot or families have been killed because of road rage. Phoenix lacks courteous drivers. When you use your turn signal, people speed up. What pisses me off are people that do not yield to drivers merging onto a freeway.

Lastly, people in restaurants that whine, complain, or make a scene just because they want free food. That shit gets really old.

My Ex wife was a waitress and she had customers that would complain all the time about the food, but they ate it all. This was a really good family restaurant also. So if it was so bad why did you eat it and not say anything??

Down with Road Rage!!!!

YES!!!! People that eat almost all of their meal or the whole meal, then complain to the server... It's like, well, I'm sorry, we can not discount you your meal because you ate every last bite.... and even licked the plate. I worked at a restaurant for 4.5 years and dealt with whiners all the time. We'd hear the "I'm never coming back here again!!!" The following weekend... Look who is back...

people who wear clothes with the tags and stickers still on them.

i've been saying that for years! you know, the first person to do that was some female celebrity in like the 1920's or 30's. i forget the name, but i remember my mother telling me about that many years ago. the woman accidentally left the price tag on her brand new hat and when she went out and the public saw it and took pictures, they asked her why she had done it. she was embarrassed at first, but then, just like any quick-witted individual, she said that it was the new style. of course, since she was a celeb, everyone believed it and women started doing that.

what goes around comes around. haha

lol that gavem me a chuckle for sure. Minnie Pearl was actually popular in the 70's on the television show Hee Haw. I remember her, and I'm old, but I ain't THAT old! She was a comedienne, and the price tag on her hat was her signature. She also used to yell HOWW-DEEEEEEEEE to the audience.

wow, i wasn't even close. show's how great my memory is. lol

It's OK, you just almost made me snarf my coffee on that one...lol. I remember my parents turning on Hee Haw on Sundays when I was little. If it was back in the '30's, I would be like 85 years old! scratch_one-s_head.gif

I have seen the driving comments, but here in Appleton I have never seen such bad drivers. They have no concept of Merge, what the fast lane is for or to move out of you way when they are in the fast lane and they going 60 in a 65...
Then in winter they still drive fast and end up in the ditch. Yeah dude, you have 4 wheel drive, but that does help you stop better. wtf

I'm with you on the 4WD thing. It does not work on ICE. Idiots. Nothing worse than having an out of control, giant SUV sliding at you at 60 mph on the ice.

+1 to that. 4wd does not mean you can go as fast as you want on snow and ice. When I was 16 I put my mom's blazer in the ditch. It had just started snowing and I didnt bother with the 4wd, and went through a corner, and my shitty abs brakes locked up going 10 mph and I ended up partway in the ditch. While waiting for a tow, 3 suvs damn neat hit me, all stopped and said "wow that was close and i even have it in 4wd!"

People just drive too fast for conditions and don't pay attention to road signs. I live right after a very, very bad "S" curve, a tight 90 degrees on each side. In the winter, we constantly hear a loud "bang", and look out, sure enough, someone has wracked their car into the guard rails. They don't seem to believe the signs. It was worse before they put up the rails, people ended up in the swamp. The lady that lives directly across from it has stopped calling the cops, because people have YELLED at her for doing it, they don't want an accident on their record. And that was when people were IN the swamp. Last year, two people managed to T-bone each other around the curve (it's narrow), in the fog. If people would just SLOW DOWN. I hear squealing tires around that damn curve every night.

Lol you should post a video

I should just take a picture of EVERY wreck for a year. THAT would be interesting! My neighbor (newish) called the town and asked if they were going to fix the road to take that curve out, and they just laughed hysterically at her. This town can hardly fix the potholes and plow, never mind reroute a whole section of road! It was a big deal when they put the guard rails in. Oh, I forgot to mention, the curve also has a slight grade to it...lol, just to add an extra degree of difficulty. And no streetlights, either.

Another pet peeve of mine, and this may cause some controversy with some, we'll see, is the "child-friendlying" of everything. I don't like it. We see it at Ren Faire a lot. Can't have that act, it's not child friendly. Don't want to have beer, not child-friendly. Have to make allowances for people to bring children to places. Have to have screaming children in nice restaurants. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate children, I just find that people feel the need to take them EVERYWHERE lately. Infants and small children in evening R-rated movies tick me off. I want to HEAR the movie, thank you. Growing up, there were events and places that my parents went to, that were for ADULTS, and children just didn't go. And speaking of that, I think that we are increasingly doing teens a disservice by expecting less and less of them, as far as responsibility and independence. I think the "age of childhood" is expanding, and I don't think it's a good thing.

So completely true.

You forgot the parents that look at you like the biggest ass in universe when you say anything about the damn brats running through the restaurant, or bawling their heads off in the cinema. People that think their children are the cutest damn things in the world, and capable of no wrong.

My personal favourite is when some princess-wanabe-mother drops her diaper-wearing infant on the food service counter in a restaurant in order to have her hands free. Damn, that's where I want food to be, where some snot-ball just planted his leaking diaper. Yummy!!!!!!!!!

I never said that you said that. When I said "Not all imports are fast, just like not all domestics are fast" I meant that it is frivolous to say that one side has a direct advantage over the other. I meant that nobody should run their mouth, claiming that they have the fastest car because someone, somewhere, has a faster car.

Wrong. I don't go to tracks and I never start shit unless someone starts it with me first. If someone chooses to drive an import, that's fine. What I don't like is when they get in my face about it and talk shit. I can't tell you how many times I have minded my own business only to be harassed by some teenage punk who thought their ride was faster than mine. It gets old real fast. Let me give you an example. One night I was out driving my GTO when some kid in a Mazda RX-8 pulls up next to me at a stop light. I like his paint job and I roll down my window and say, "Hey, nice ride, man." He says back to me, "Psh... too bad I can't say the same about yours..." Thats when the shit hit the fan.

You accused me of presumably talking shit about imports. If one of us is guilty of talking shit, it's you

That might be true. If I had to take a side on this I'd say that there is equal discrimination when it comes to the domestic/import debate. Like I said, I don't give a flying f*** if someone drives an import or not. Its a free country. They like imports while I like my American car.

Off the record, the best I've gotten was 26 mpg.

Like I said, I don't care what kind of car a person drives. Its all about the attitude they have, regardless of where the car was made. That's all I have to say on this issue. I feel that I have successfully defended my point of view and my previous statements, and I believe that my colleagues here at hookahforum will agree to that.

I'm at a hookah lounge with some friends, I'm fixing the coals trying to get it perfect. The second I get it right and it's hitting nice and thick, I pass it to my friend and I even tell him, "It's hitting good, I just fixed it." One of the workers even hears me say it, like he's right behind me, and he goes takes the coals off the hookah, takes the bowl off blows all the ash out, and we're like wtf?!? wow. i'd never return to that lounge if that ever happened.
many hookah lounges won't let their guests touch the coals at all. it's a liability. that's what i like about smoking at Eric's lounge, Oddessy; you'll be smokin' away and he just asks, "hey, man, are you good on coals? need anymore?" you get to have as many coals as you want, put them on your bowl the way you want to; it's just like smokin' at home. i love it.

It's on Ventura Blvd. once you get off the 101 in SoCal. It's literally called "The Hookah Lounge."

Saechao man you need to give it a rest. All your arguments are completely worn out. "Oh my honda is better cause domestics suck" blah blah blah, the shit gets old.

I drive an import (acura 3.2TL) because I like it, its a good car. I don't give two fucks if the guy next to me is in a mustang, a riced out honda, or a bimmer.

When people take this whole "car scene" to the level where they care so fucking much about what OTHER people drive, thats when its gone waaay too far.

ANYWAYS.
I hate people who cant type straight. What are you a fucking moron? We should put some porn on the site so the child filters will pick it up and keep away the morons.

Nick you a popo?

I hate people who act cool. if youre cool, fine. But dont be staring at me; that shit will get you popped in the face.

I hate how the world revolves around money. But thats a topic for the serious discussion.

I hate how sexual fantasies never come true.
