I call them happy pills and this one Doc put me on Valium to keep me calm....I have few meds for when you get a migraine where you want to puke and any noise or light is really painful. I just make my room pitch black and curl up into the fetal position and try to fall asleep and hopefully when I wake up I just have a throbbing headache that I can take more fiorecet or vicodin and try to tough it out the rest of the day. I took 5 of them once and nothing. No numbness, no drowsiness, no intoxicated feeling... She likes to educate me about them .Mush, Xanax's main use is short-acting but strong. They have a XR (extended release) version that lasts a good amount of time. leadpipecinch21 Posted March 1, 2008 Share Posted March 1, 2008 a friend of mine was prescribed xanax for about 6 months, and sadly really fucked with him. first off, he got really weird when he was on it. he was always an outgoing guy and the life of the party and all of that, but when he was on his xanax, he basically didn't move. he said he felt so content just sitting there that he couldn't face getting up and going somewhere else...he also got extremely addicted to it(he has an addictive personality, so it wasn't good...), and said that for 6 months after getting off of it he'd have intense body cravings for it, which could only be quelled by massive amounts of drinking.i don't know if i can get in trouble for this, and if this isn't something to be discussed here, mods feel free to do what you need to. anyways, i took one of his xanax, and i can truly see how it's so addicting. at least for me i was just overcome with a sense of well being and contentment. made for the most enjoyable 6 hours of my life, but it's not something i'd want all the time.
