Epic Smoke (formerly Zona) Review

Zona (epic now I guess) Blueberry

Got it from the sampler group and I was hoping for the best because I love my blueberry.

Setup:
32" brass KM
Nammor hose
med phunnel bowl
diffuser
Exotica coals
and quick lights later

Cut: nice and stringy, cut it up a little bit so it would allow for some airflow

Appearance: very very juicy, literally dripping
non colored, which is good.

Smell: it smelled like a faint/light blueberry, pretty nice over all, not overpowering like fantasia's blueberry, but nice none the less.

Smoke: pretty thick overall, nothing that blew other brands out of the water but not wispy so nice thick clouds

Taste: It unfortunately did not live up to my expectations, there was a hint of blueberry but nothing that told my tongue I had blueberries in my mouth.


Overall: it's not a bad shisha but I wish I had the (money) chance to try some more. The biggest disappointment was the flavor. I'd give it a 6.5/10 because the lacking flavor. Pack some more of that in and you might get a new customer :-D

Overall: 7/10 No buzz, Not enough Sour, and it tastes to similar to AF. It's an okay smoke. I would smoke if I had it, but I wouldn't make a special order for it.

Epic Smoke Pink Lemonade

Cut: Very wet, and with medium sized cuts.

Smell: Smelled exactly like Pink Lemonade concentrate.

Smoke: Amazing clouds. Made me so happy.

Taste: Actually, tasted a lot like the smell. Only problem I had with it was it burning my throat because the smoke was still hot.

Duration: About an hour.


Overall: 8.5/10

Great clouds while still holding flavor, the only problem I had was heat management. Actually the opposite of the heat management problem I usually have, this time I couldn't get it from NOT burning. Not in a bad way, but occasionally I'd get hot smoke that'd sting my throat. Still, a GREAT taste and amazing clouds. I'd buy again.

Epic Smoke Candy Cane

Cut: Same as above, maybe a bit wetter.

Smell: Smelled just like peppermint.

Smoke: Big, thick cooling clouds. Just great.

Taste: Perfect! Spot on nailed it!

Duration: About 45 minutes to an hour at most.

Overall 9.5/10

Amazing! Really! I'm a huge fan of AF Mint, but this beat it. Bigger clouds, more cooling taste, and not nearly as overpowering for first timers, oddly enough. Only problem with it: Wish it could have lasted longer!!

Pink Lemonade - Epic Smoke

Cut: very wet, few stems, not bad

Smell: like fresh pink lemonade zest. i actually bought it based on its smell, its good. more like watery than juicy.

Taste: just like it smelled, but it was quite thin on flavor throughout; i didn't mind tho

Clouds: pretty thick - not as thick as other brands i've had tho. i think it's because it was not as juicy to begin with.

Buzz: very very light buzz, almost didn't have one at all

Duration: 1.5 hours

Overall: id give this a 8/10. It was a good flavor without being overpowering. i would have liked it to be easier to get thick clouds and maybe a little more buzz. I honestly think id buy it again even... i can't see myself ever getting sick of this flavor; it was cheap too!

Epic Smoke Candy Cane

Apart from paying $8.00 in a head shop for 100g of this shisha, it was definitely worth my while. I got it around Christmastime so that added to the overall aura of the flavor. Its a great mint flavor, and anyone who knows me knows that I'm quite the mint aficionado. many times I caught myself just opening the jar and taking whiffs of potent mint candy smell, which I might add really clears out your sinuses. And like most, if not all Epic Smoke shishas, this one was extremely wet, which causes it to have really thick bushy white clouds for the whole session. i will give this shisha a 9.6/10 overall.

Flavor: Pink Lemonade
I got this on a recommendation by the guy at the store, said everyone was a loving it. I was a little hesitant as I'm not into citrusy flavors all that much. The shisha was dripping all over the place; I don't have a phunnel and it actually ran down the bowl and got all over my table while I was dealing with the coals. Lasted about an hour with two no-name coals that burn wayyyy too quickly and way hotter than anything I've ever had (bought from a local tobacco shop, go figure). The taste was completely pink lemonade, in fact it was probably the most true-to-flavor shisha I've ever smoked, save the obvious ones. 9/10. Will definitely be getting other flavors from them...

edit: I'd call this the poor-mans starbuzz, it's got huge clouds little to no buzz and weird flavors. Edited April 3, 2009 by pretzlcoat

I am betting this has been sitting around a while. Confirming that Epic didn't do enough research in creating the longevity of their tobacco.
