My New Syrian!

Recommended Posts

Well I decided to add a syrian to my collection and wow was this the best purchase I have added. A 26" Syrian hookah. I also picked up a medium phunnel and exoticas from them. The hookah is beautiful and very well made. Solid brass . Shipping was three days and packed well enough that the USPS could have thrown the package around and all would have been okay. Looks great ~ I usually don't like monotone shafts but the detail on that model is excellent.

Wise purchase.

Isn't that an Egyptian top? What makes it a Syrian? I thought Syrian were with the female bowl recepticle at the top, and male bowl stem.

Maybe this will help.

Nope - it doesn't. I see people arguing which is better, but no one saying "An Egyptian hookah as the following characteristics, and differ from a Syrian here, here, and here".

My lebanese and kuwaiti friends use "syrian" and "lebanese" interchangeably, in both cases meaning a hookah with a male bowl and female stem top, as opposed to Egyptian with a female bowl and male stem top.

(Then again, when they discuss hookah in English they use the term "hubbly bubbly", not "hookah")
