Nobody likes Al Amir? Huh, I would have thought it would have gotten more votes. Fumari and Nahkla too...I guess more people need to vote. Havana isn't even listed... Edited by Sonthert

I Voted Nahkla, even thought i love layalina.

I am willing to bet that a lot of people Nahkla would be there No.2 or 3.

It's very old Skool, Very traditional. And it's the tobacco i keep going back too.

hence why i voted it my #1

JD

iIve smoken on my trips round the middle east etc for a while but never took any notice of what was in the bowl. Only had a bad experience at a fishermans cafe in Doha.

So I haven't filled in the polls as I've only tried a couple of brands since I got my own pipe. Nakla is good in a 'pint of bitter' way, as JD said, old school.

I had a smoke of fakher in a shisha bar in Brussels (the owner got it from a friend who flew in from Dubai) and it blew me away. Strawberry that I could still taste the next day. Since then I've been importing it but never got the same strengh of flavour though, I need to practice more I guess.

Layalina for me.

Tangiers is good, but too strong for me at times. And I want to try Starbuzz, but not at $20/can

Wow! Close. I have another, somewhat related question, of those people that voted, how many different brands have you smoked and moreover, if your first smoke isn't still your favorite, how many times has your #1 brand changed?

My first shisha came straight from Egypt. No idea what it was. Didn't know much about hookah back then.

I voted Tangiers, but was tough. I like the buzz of tangiers, the taste of starbuzz, and the price of al-waha.

Al-Waha used to be my favorite, then I got Fumari, then Starbuzz, now Tangiers. Seems like whatever new brand I get has been better than the last. Then again, I started reading here after I got the Fumari so my choices have hopefully improved =D

As for:
Al-Fahker and Nakhla - Only probably smoked a bowl of each. Both were excellent. As soon as I find some better prices around here, I'll try them again.
Hookah Hookah - just doesn't do it for me. The flavors taste overly fake. Grape was good, imo.
Romman - I'm kind of scared of this brand. Had Strawberry and it tasted like ... crap.

Haven't tried the other brands. (Al Amir, Fusion, Layalina, SOEX, Smileys)

I have had Grapes, but you have to buy from England. No one in the states carries it, so it comes out REALLY EXPENSIVE! Grape was good but not great.

Am I the only one who had a "Benzeen" taste to their El Nakhla?
A friend bought me some cherry sisha and I have it in my carying case for about half a year now.
It's not that it tastes like inhaling tires, but just this feint aftertaste that I really don't like.

One of the primary flavors in cherry flavors is benzaldehyde. Nice taste buds, man. Thats a fixture of cheap cherry flavors.

you mean theres no cherrys??? ohmy.gif

ya my cherry i ordered has a really weird taste to it and some kinda weird aftertaste
i havent got that from any of the other flavours yet

Me + Al Fakher = rolleyes.gif

hey,
alright i'm new to the forum and honestly, i hate driving so I bought SOEX off ebay, whats the deal with this hookah. i can take an e-beating so be as brutal as you want, you wont hurt my feelings, unsure.gif haha. is this the $hitty hookah or what? thanks in advance your thoughts/comments
>John

Only once did I ever buy that stuff. I think I still have the vast majority of each box shoved in some dark corner of my office. That stuff is hard to take! a bit like smoking a ball of cat-hork. The good part is that once you try it anything else will be a great smoke!
