Hookah Music Mixes

Nobuo Uematsu - Final Fantasy music, from FFI - FFX, he quit after that and started doing more with his musical group/orchestra, The Black Mages. Hearing this music performed by real instruments on a CD just breathes new life into the stuff that was kind of a background thing for hours on end.

Otherwise, I hate to say it, but stuff that's popular with the druggie crowd is great with hookah. Sublime, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles (later stuff for me smile.gif), Pink Floyd, it all works really well. But nothing can replace my Uematsu biggrin.gif Edited by Allia22

Allia...a woman after my own heart. I never realized how good that music would be for smoking. Perfect ambience.
Gosh, I've found so many great bands/artists that only a girl would seem to know of.
Once again, Allia, good taste.
What's your fav album from The Floyd?

Mentioning Pink Floyd I must ask...what do you guys think of an artist named "Jarvis Cocker"...doesn't he sound like he could be with Pink Floyd or something?

It's actually more like one song by Cocker. Called "I WIll Kill Again"...

His voice and the soft parts remind me alot of The Wall.

Of course there's also Pink Floyd, Cream, and especially Donovan..., The Doors, Jurassic 5, The Beatles, and a MUST HAVE Zeppelin, and Madlib/Quasimoto.

Hey guys, thanks for the music suggestions. I started looking up some of these bands and I really like Infected Mushroom and Transglobal Underground. Listening to IM right now. Not sure if any of you are into Reggae, but check out Collie Buddz if you get a chance. I heard about him when I was in Hawaii, but not sure if he's very popular out here on the mainland.

I heard about Modest Mouse from a friend and later found an article in a online hOokah site about them. I suppose their music is great for a hookah lounge. I listened to a couple of songs on iTunes and really didn't find much I liked. Anything from them you'd really suggest?

Well, I guess it would depend on what you didn't like by them to show you a different side of them. There most recent album, called "We were Dead Before the Ship Ever Sank," is a bit different from their previous albums and they have a quite a few. The one I suggested it a bit older and is very entertaining. All of their songs are pretty far out lyrically and extremely catchy. As for what you can find on their myspace, their song People as Places as People is pretty cool. I would most certainly suggest some of those other bands though, my favorite on the list would probably be MewithoutYou.
