  1. Religion is a Social phenomenon that unites like people and builds a community atmosphere. Not as much today as it had been, but in history religion has also been what separated different nations and held individual nations together. From a young age you are conditioned through religion (and other influences) on how you should act, and the difference between right and wrong, i.e. your conscience. This is not to say that without religion that you would not develop your own set of morals, which is what you meant when you mentioned talking to yourself in the absence of society. Those of us who aren't religious acquire get these morals and our conscience from other sources. However, by getting our morals from other sources is that disrespecting the teachings of god? Are we saying that we can find our own way without his guidance? I believe that religion and God are a useful tool to unite people and give them hope. People know that no matter what they are going through they can always pray to god, and rely on the fellow members of their faith for support. That is the power of religion. My problem with religion are those who both take the literal word of the religious teachings, and those who use religion as a ploy to get both wealth and power. During the times of the Roman Empire, the Roman Catholic Church was the most powerful entity in the world, and because of that felt that it could do anything. This lead to vast corruption and a misuse of the original intent of the religion. Personally I am not the slightest bit religious, but I can see how religion has found a place in many people's lives.

  3. QUOTE (Canon @ Aug 2 2008, 06:26 PM) moved so you can get more help Thanks. I ended up getting 27" KM from Hookahcompany.com. I found the 15% off coupon so that helped as well. From what I've read so far Khalil Mamoon seems to be a pretty reputable brand. I couldn't remember which flavor I liked best, so I tried some new ones. I got Peach, After Nine, Strawberry and Frapuccino. All Al Waha. So far I like that brand the best. Its supposed to be here on Thurdsay, I can't wait. 27" Thaqib Khalil Mamoon
  4. Hi, I'm Miles. My ex-girlfriend bought me a hookah right before we broke up, so I let her take it with her. However, since I did love hookah, I am in the market for a replacement. I figured this was the best place to look around and see what is quality. Right now I'm looking at one of these. I'm trying not to spend over $110 since I am in college now, and money is relativly tight. http://www.hookahcompany.com/swirl_bohemia...h_2376_prd1.htm http://www.hookahcompany.com/al_afra_hybri...h_3057_prd1.htm http://www.hookahcompany.com/crescent_moon...h_3164_prd1.htm
