    Pipe smokers? Post it.

QUOTE (ahadden @ Sep 17 2008, 10:37 PM) I hate to bring up dead threads but I love pipe smoking so much I thought we could bring the discussion back. One question for you pipe smokers out there: how often do you smoke the pipe vs. the hookah? Ever since getting my hookah I've pretty much smoked nothing but hookah for the past 3 weeks, although last night I lit up the briar and fell in love with it again. When you guys solo smoke, do you reach for the briar or the glass? I used to smoke each night, but it has slowed down a lot. There is a lot to pipe smoking. Most tobacco is very wet so you have to let it air out otherwise it won't smoke right. As for briar or glass, it just depends on what I'm feeling like. Something about briar is that it must be broken in otherwise the smoke is very harsh and not very pleasant. Just smoke a few half bowls for a while and you'll get it. Also, everclear makes a wonderful cleaner.

    Cleaning My Hookah

wow, that was a dirty pipe in the video.
  4. Anyone else have issues with Romman tobacco? AF seems to always be a winner, but with Romman the flavor goes quick and it seems to be easy to overheat. Or is it just me?
  5. I was going to hit this up but they seem to require that you show ID to the driver otherwise they won't deliver. Do they really do that? I had never heard of that before. I'm not concerned about being ID'd but I'm never home during the day and it would rather suck if they went to leave on my doorstep like normal but it just went back to where it came from.
  6. if you check out their website they are aware of this problem and seems like they will replace it for you. Look in the review section of that hose at the bottom of the web site.

Al Fakher Jasmine Setup: Hookah: QT, standard bowl Coal: two coconaras liquid in vase: Tap water, no ice or additives. Cut: Typical Al-Fakher cut. Smell: Jasmine Smoke: Really full Flavour: Jasmine, like smoking tea Buzz: Little bit Duration: Pretty long hour at least. Rating: 3/10. Very good, if you like Jasmine. If not it gets old, fast. I just knocked down the rating a lot. I couldn't finish the bowl, I started to feel ill...

    Km Classic 35"

I have a 36" pear that I like a lot. I would actually be surprised if there really is much diff between all KM models since the important part is just a stainless steel tube of varying length. Just paying for more decoration, right?
  9. let me know what you think about it when you get it. I am looking at getting something between the QT and the KM pear and don't want to drop a lot of cash.

I Have Died And Gone To Heaven!

anyone know of such a place in the atlanta area? I am surprised we don't have one that good, we have a lot of middle eastern/indian residents and lot of ethnic grocery stores around that sell some hookah an shisha. The best one I know of has a lot of myas and just about every AF flavor there is. But only QL or bulk natural coals and not too many nice accessories.

    Mod'ed My Km

man I didn't know I'd bum so many people out... I mostly smoke while watching TV or a movie so it was just too much for me. Still pretty loud without the bendy straw diffuser.

    Mod'ed My Km

QUOTE (Snoopy1966 @ Sep 14 2008, 01:45 PM) That bulb at the bottom acts as a diffuser and a KM should rumble, and not be quiet!! It is cool though, everyone likes what they want. Be careful now that you cut off the end, because you might get rust. I am wondering about that. The down stem is supposed to be stainless so it better not rust...

    Mod'ed My Km

I can give you an after picture, but it looks just like a normal downstem now (like a Mya I guess). Just for the forum and in the name of science I just went dumpster diving and dug out the bulb. I took off just under 1" of stem. Still lots of stem left... It really wasn't enough to make a difference in the stem.
  14. Just so everyone is interested knows, yes I will also vouch that the bulb at the bottom of the KM stem does make it a lot louder and makes the tray bounce a lot. I introduced the downstem to Mr. Hacksaw this morning and I will say that it is quieter and "calmer" but still pretty good volume from it. As an idea, has anyone turned their downstem into a diffuser itself? Drill a bunch of small holes in the bottom inch or so? Perhaps plug up the bottom with a hose stopper?

    Making My Own Shisha

QUOTE (Speak_In_Vowels @ Aug 6 2008, 09:14 PM) QUOTE (Hookah Peace @ Jul 28 2008, 03:21 PM) QUOTE (hookah hippie @ Jul 27 2008, 02:48 PM) Use Virginia blend tobacco Virginia is very, very high in nicotine. Can send you 'high' in only one inhalation. For seasoned cigarette smokers only! Personally I think the cigar tobacco idea is a good one, albeit expensive. Pipe tobacco (some are flavoured e.g. with vanilla) is an excellent idea. yea virginia is high in nicotine, but starbuzz uses it, but they just wash they hell out of it lol when i make it if it turns out good ill let you guys sample it. Actually as I understand from my briar pipe smoking VA tobaccos have the lowest nicotine content. I can vouch for that because i generally only smoke straight VA tobacco in my pipes. Burly leaf on the other hand is what really packs it. I can definitely feel it when I smoke straight burly tobacco. Perique is another knock-you-on-your-butt leaf, but that is hard to get and would be really $$ to make shisha out of.
