  1. New Dream Theater Album !

Dream Theater is the shiznit. I'm gonna have to check this one out. I currently own "Train of Thought", "Scenes from a memory", and "Six degrees of Inner Turbulence". Good stuff! - misterbeetz
  2. What Your Listening To Right Now?

Makes me Wonder - Maroon 5 - misterbeetz
  3. Iphone

I'm curious on how this thing is gonna turn out. First generations of devices are commonly known for bugs or design flaws that get worked out in later incarnations. - misterbeetz
  4. Calling All Xbox 360 Users

QUOTE (xDizzyGuyx @ Jun 2 2007, 04:17 PM) Sorry, I'm 100% all for banning firmware modding and the such... Sure you can make your xbox do some cool shit BUT then you get all the modders and hackers in games... that that is just bull shit. Takes all the enjoyment out of a game. Yeah, I have no idea how the FW mods allow for game hacking (but then again I haven't been following the xbox scene for awhile). The "original" intention of the mod FW's was to allow for playing "backups" of your games (or pirated copies depending on what you choose to do). So either people are using hacks that are firmware related or MS got fed up with too many people stealing their games (or both). I personally don't hack and haven't had an XBL account since the end of the first year it came out. Im against hacking online games but i love using homebrew software like XBMC on the xbox (or old school games like sonic the hedgehog on xbox FTW!). Modding consoles is a double edged sword. For me it doesn't matter since I don't use XBL. Like the previous generation though, this is only the beginning of a game of cat and mouse. They've already found a way around MS's current set of FW checks... - misterbeetz
  5. Calling All Xbox 360 Users

QUOTE (insidius @ May 22 2007, 04:12 PM) QUOTE (misterbeetz @ May 17 2007, 05:11 PM) What am I looking forward to? More exploits in the system so I can run XBMC and other homebrew software on it. I currently use the old xbox for this but it would nice to be able to use the power of the 360 for these purposes. Here is a video of XBMC if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsl96O6OaCs - misterbeetz http://www.gamespot.com/news/6171135.html?...rednews;title;4 Yeah, looks like Bill got pissed and is now banning 360s with modded firmware. Its a shame that they are doing so since I was planning to download some game extras. Hopefully some new firmwares will come out soon. - misterbeetz
  6. Size Of Small Phunnel

QUOTE (Gaara @ May 19 2007, 04:21 AM) QUOTE (Shifty @ May 19 2007, 02:22 AM) 2.65 inches across, 5 inches tall Thanks a lot! I do have the small version...wow, these things are pretty big. I wonder what the large size phunnel would be like. Small is more than enough for me. Thats what I thought when I first got mine. They are really big bowls, especially when compared to the little myas I was used too. - misterbeetz
  7. Few Quick Questions

QUOTE (clickhea @ May 20 2007, 01:11 PM) QUOTE (newsman @ May 20 2007, 08:33 AM) I use the wind cover inside all the time. It really adds another level of heat control. I keep it on for the first 5 - 10 minutes to build up some nice heat and get the smoke going, then I take it off. When the coals start to get small, I put it back on to recover more heat and lengthen the session. Give it a try if you can. sounds good, i usualy use 1 40mm 3 kings coal, which i break in half (I put 1 half on each side of the bowl) usualy goes pretty good... only problem iam having is, alot of the times when i try splitting the coal down the middle it breaks into 3 pieces which sucks. Yeah, I got tired of trying to get two good half pieces for that reason or that one half is way bigger than the other. You can try scoring the coal down the middle to help make a clean break. I personally just break em up into four pieces now. - misterbeetz
  8. Scalli Mod

QUOTE (txhookahman @ May 20 2007, 01:07 AM) I remember him saying that he has been busy with life too! Not to mention he's making all the mods! lol. I don't think he makes the mods. He came up with the idea and made copper ones but im pretty sure MNH has a glass blower contracted or on staff to make their mods and glass bowls. In fact I think I recall scalli saying that the mod idea belongs to MNH now (I don't recall any details on that though so I could be wrong). - misterbeetz
  9. Buying A Phunnel Bowl

QUOTE (Gaara @ May 19 2007, 02:33 PM) QUOTE (ASUSEAN1 @ May 16 2007, 02:50 PM) the scalli mod does everything the funnel bowl was designed to prevent. the main purpose of the funnel besides holding in the juice was to re-direct the airflow so you are not pulling air through the shisha.. o well Is that true? Yeah Tangiers designed his phunnels to be used with his (tangiers brand) shisha so the airflow moves across the top of the shisha. The phunnel has more benefits to offer so the scalli mod was thought up to better adapt the phunnel for other shisha. Even though I don't smoke tangiers out of my phunnel, I still use it with the mod because it makes the shisha last longer, gives a better flavor, and prevents the juices from gunking up the stem of my hookah. Sonthert (Tangiers) has a new bowl in beta testing right now for non-tangiers smokers. - misterbeetz
  10. Neat Ice Cube Trays I Found

QUOTE (ASUSEAN1 @ May 18 2007, 08:36 PM) QUOTE (misterbeetz @ May 18 2007, 10:04 PM) QUOTE (whatsacorbin @ May 18 2007, 06:45 PM) Those are some tight ice cubes. I never use ice in the base anymore. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but everytime I just put room temperature water in my vase, the flavor comes out more. The hot smoke in contact with very cold water seems like too much of a dramatic change molecularly. Does anyone else get better flavor like this or am I crazy as hell? Yeah, ive found that room temperature water gives me the most buzz and flavor. - misterbeetz hmm well that doesn't make too much sense.. actually the colder the water, the less nicotine is absorbed and visa versa.. Interesting. I guess it might have been all in my head then. I'm gonna do some testing and use my brother as a guinea pig as well. - misterbeetz

  12. Scalli Mod

QUOTE (Zerodynamic @ May 18 2007, 12:12 AM) If you aren't going to hit the hookah constantly, purging is your best bet. +1 QUOTE (hookah hippie @ May 18 2007, 02:36 AM) where has scalli been anyway? He mentioned a while back why he wasn't on as often, but that post/thread seems to be MIA as I can't find it anymore using the search. But I think I remember him saying that he is occupied with renovations of his house and just being more busy with life in general. - misterbeetz
  13. Small Bowl

QUOTE (teq @ May 18 2007, 05:28 PM) Wouldn't it be better to get a shallow bowl, as that'll provide the most smoke for a short session? You could always just save your money and pack the bowl less. Yeah, you can go tight and deep like the mya or wide and shallow. I guess it comes down to preference, but I like tight/deep better because you can pack a little in there and get good distance from the coals which makes it less likely to burn. The upside of this is that trying both won't eat your wallet. - misterbeetz
  14. QUOTE (GordonMac @ May 17 2007, 11:13 PM) no very far from olympia. does anyone know where to buy that smileys 15 dollar hookah? HC used to sell a Fatuta which was real close if not basically the same. It dosen't seem to be on there any more but I found some other ones on there, just not as low in price: http://tinyurl.com/2k5zon - misterbeetz
  15. Small Bowl

QUOTE (The King @ May 18 2007, 05:08 PM) Everyone always talks about their sessions lasting 1+ hours, but I'm usually done smoking after 45 min to an hour, sometimes only half an hour. The people I smoke with never want to smoke more than that. We really never stop smoking though, its a 2 hose and its pretty much always bubbling away. But I was wondering should I just buy a smaller bowl to save shisha, cus I know I have to be wasting it with short sessions. What bowls are good for this type of thing? I go for deep and small diameter in that case. I think the mya bowls are good for that, and they are cheap to boot. ($3.00) from mya-direct. Mya Saray Bowl: http://tinyurl.com/2tefvy - misterbeetz
