Please do your own research prior to posting and looking pitifully moronic. Besides the fact that these are questions that have variable answers changing over time as certain things become popular and other things people lose interest in. If you did a search as I did then you would notice not only these questions not show up but if anything does it is unrelated to my question or IS my thread. Lastly, I have spent much time reading that thread. Please keep in mind bumping your post count to post things like that does not add value to a forum. Please use private message if your reply is off topic.
chill out man. Secrets was trying to help you by offering a link to a thread devoted to questions just like yours.
This. You come in here throwing insults around when someone is trying to help you. This guy reminds me of someone who was recently booted..the way he is quick to insult, and is talking about opening a hookah bar in Virgina just like that member. If its determined you are not, my full apologizes. But no need at all to talk to other members and insult them in anyway with name calling or saying he is posting just to boost his count.
I can assure you that would not be me as mine will not be started in Virginia , also an admin can IP check me as it should show every time I post ( at least to root admins) @Arcane, Yes I would definitely have good product but in the grand scheme of things so far ( from my research which is incomplete ) building the interior and having it designed they way I am imagining will have a higher price tag than buying some of the most popular and best Shisha. I would assume my state is incorrect though about atmosphere being number 1. So easily product most important followed by atmosphere and knowledgeable staff followed by great prices? As for the entire post I made earlier tonight, I just felt as though he was posting making assumptions that I did not do my research felt a bit offended. I am sorry for that. I will for future reference let everyone know though I have tried to do as much research as possible using the forums so far. Sorry if I did happen to miss something.

Mainly this is what I learned 1) How many people would you guys say frequent a Hookah bar on a given day? Say poor day, average day, good day? With a quality atmosphere, good product, competitive prices, and knowledgeable and personable staff. My central downtown city located Hookah bar that offers other very popular relaxing products will keep enough customers in a given week on average to break even at worst given all else equal. 2) What products would you consider to cannibalize the sale of Hookah? Beer, Wine, Bar Food, ETC Restaurants fail as hookah bars, and beer is not the best possible beverage to offer as long as something better can be offered outside of soda and water. 3) What would you consider the best compliment products for a Hookah Bar to offer? Beer, Wine, Bar food, ETC Finger and easy to eat foods that can be ready quick, basically snacks and other foods that contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. 4) Obviously, atmosphere is important in a hookah bar. Is it alright to go away from the middle eastern theme maybe tropical? It is alright to go out of the ordinary, just do a good job at it. Spend more on atmosphere than anywhere else because you want people to return. 5) What level of ventilation would you guys like to see in a hookah bar? The best ventilation is to remove smoke as quickly as possible BUT without disturbing customers enjoying themselves by blowing smoke O's and other things. Remove the smoke once the customer is completely done with in in theory. Am I on a good track so far? Also does anyone have an e-mail that I could send some more info too. Either someone that owns a hookah bar or someone extremely knowledgeable about the subject that would like a steep discount upon completion of my first location ?
3. Hey Mush, If you have the time I would like to pick your brain and ask you a few questions haha . Mind if i use your e-mail?
4. Alright so I met with the partner for the Hookah bar and Just had a few questions. 1) How many people would you guys say frequent a Hookah bar on a given day? 6. Thank you Allstar, luckily my area is someplace in Florida, think central Florida. Do you own a Hookah Bar locally? Seeing your location we probably live less than 15 minutes from one-another.
7. Hookah Survey

I was going to view the questions to see what information you were interested in gathering, and just wanted to let you know the survey is down. Of course this is an old topic but if you have completed the survey I would be interested in hearing the results and viewing the data. I can also help you run some correlations and cross tabulations if your questions allowed for that kind of analysis. I have access to professional marketing software that allows such projects to be done with ordinal and ratio numerical data.
8. Do they make stainless steal hoses? Stainless steal still rusts however is more corrosion resistant. I am new to hookah, but there are other types of metals like cold steel, S40V lots of high corrosion resistant steels used in making tools and expensive cutlery. Interested to hear replies
9.
Well you did state the things you enjoy, and hookah wasn't one of them. I personally haven't ever been to a lounge where the owner didn't smoke, as it takes a bit of know how (even though it is not rocket science), but that is with every undertaking. I wish you good luck in your endeavors nonetheless, and the community will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have on the way.
The co-founder/ chief operations "officer" / investor is a heavy hookah smoker. I am more of the business manager, business development guy. As i read in an old post from one of the Admins, Hookah bars are a business which are around to make money . I agree heavily that owning a Hookah bar and having no experience would fail quickly, the heavy hookah smoker is the one that will be running daily operations and setting all of that up. @cp44, Hampton Roads area think Va Beach, Norfolk area. @Chreees, yes I should have mentioned in my original post that the co-owner is the person that knows everything about hookah. He currently frequents a hookah bar several times a week and has several years of smoking experience. I came here so that I could better understand about hookah even without smoking it so that when him and I are discussing things I have a better understanding. Thank you all for welcoming me, already makes this a much better place. I would be interested in having a mentor that owns a hookah lounge as-well if anyone is interested
10. I actually do not smoke hookah myself no sir. Good deduction as i never stated it specifically.
11. What Makes You Tip Well?

I tip based on a tier scale. The watier/waitress can earn either an Ok tip Good Tip or Great Tip Tip Schedule: Ok tip which is 10% is always given no matter the service, for good face. A good tip can be earned by keeping my drink full as I need a refill very often, and making sure the order is correct. A great tip can be earned by showing me proof that your working for the tip which does not mean be TOO attentive. Description: -Keeping my drink full is as simple as bringing me another when mine is below half empty. You don't need to talk to me though you can just drop it off and leave. Talkign to me is not bad though. -My order being correct is important. I do not want to eat without the other people in my party and vise versa. Bring a notepad if you need to it does not offend me, however you look like an idiot trying to remember the order and messing it all up and you lose tip. -Lastly, being too attentive can be annoying. When i walk in ask what I want to drink and when you arrive back ask if I need more time. Upon placing my order check my drink and bring more bread/other appatizers if they are freely offered (like at an outback). Once the food is ready bring it out drop it off and ask if everything looks right. Then once you leave come back in 2 minutes to ask if everything IS cooked correctly( only important if there is a meat most of the time). Then just keep an eye on my drink and thats it. Do not ask if I am done with anything either as in reality I am, but my party may feel obligated to quicken their eating habits because I am sitting there waiting. Just my opinion an advice and everyone is different. Hope this helps.
12. Hello everyone! I am new to the Hookah Forum, but dropped in because I noticed a large amount of good information availible. I am going to start my own hookah bar here shortly and came here to have some possible questions answered. A little bit about me first, My name is Eric and I live in Virginia. I have a degree in Finance and marketing and am getting my MBA now. I enjoy wakeboarding, snowboarding, jetskiing, hockey, and networking with new people. I try to keep busy with business development and a hookah bar is one of two things I am doing. I would like to network with as many hookah users here as possible and learn answers to everything I do not know, as well as share information I do know and become a valuable member of this community. I admin a set of forums myself and know how much a single member that contributes can add value to a set of forums. Thanks for reading my introduction and I looking forward to meeting you all, Eric Hakooh Bar
